CHS 1947 reunion Wednesday at Patio
CANNELTON – The Cannelton High School Class of 1947 will hold its 65th reunion at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Patio Steakhouse.

Cheri Taylor in concert May 29 at First Baptist
TELL CITY – Cheri Taylor of Lamar will be in concert in Tell City at 10 a.m. May 29 at First Baptist Church. For more than 30 years, Taylor has faithfully followed the path that God has set for her in ministry organizers of the concert said.
“Blessed with a dynamic singing voice, Cheri delights in a gospel music thrust to present the Word of God to her audience,” information to the News stated. The public is cordially invited to share in this special event.

Cannelton cemetery cleanup starts today
CANNELTON – Cannelton employees will work to clean up the cemetery for the Memorial Day weekend. Any old flowers left on stones or cemetery grounds will be removed starting this week.

Cookbooks to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Association
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paul-in are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
The books sell for $10 each and all proceeds go to the association. Anyone interested in purchasing a book can contact Sanders at 547-6787 or 719-0816.

PCMH to offer free quit-smoking class
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will offer a free quit-smoking class from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
“Freshstart,” an American Cancer Society program, provides tools to use while individuals quit the habit of smoking.

St. John’s chicken, ham supper June 9
NEW BOSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church, located a half mile west of New Boston, will have its annual chicken and ham supper June 9. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m.
In addition to fried chicken and ham, there will be a variety of vegetables, desserts and homemade bread. The country store will have crafts, baked items, quilts, fresh produce, plants and numerous other items. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy.

VNA Plus blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers. The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday. For more information, call VNA at 547-7967.

PCMH to offer screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.
