Dessert auction at LHDC
TELL CITY – The Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Relay for Life team will host a dessert silent auction from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Lincoln Conference room. Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Individual items will also be for sale.

Annual lip-sync contest today
TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior Senior High School Renaissance Leadership class will host its annual Lip-Sync Contest at 7:30 p.m. today in the school auditorium.
Guests may enter the 12th street doors and tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Eighteen groups will perform and the public is invited to attend.
Tractor association to gather today
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Branchville clubhouse.
VFW breakfast Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will serve a breakfast buffet from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the post. Cost is $6 per person and the public is invited.
Relay team to sell chicken dinners
TELL CITY – The Relay for Life Lifesavers team will sell chicken dinners at 10 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 12th Street and Indiana 37 in Tell City.
Cost for the meals will be $8 and include half a chicken, creek fries and green beans. There will also be baked goods available.
K of C Lenten dinners Friday
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., will conclude Lenten dinners Friday.
Serving is from 5 to 8 p.m. and the meal is open to the public. For more information, call the K of C at 547-3621.
Horseman Club last euchre game Saturday
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host its final euchre game of the season Saturday.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7. Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second place $30 and third place $20.

Rome VFD annual meeting Monday
ROME – The Rome Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in the Rome Community Center.
All members, which include Tobin Township property owners, are encouraged to attend. There will be an election of three directors and possible changes to fire protection will be discussed.
Refreshments will be served after the meeting.
Stroke, osteoporosis screenings in Tell City
TELL CITY – Residents living in and around the Tell City community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. Evangelical United Church of Christ will host Life Line Screening Monday.

Packages start at $159. All five screenings take 60 to 90 minutes to complete.
PCSAC accepting grant requests
PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Substance Abuse Committee is accepting grant requests for the 2013-14 grant cycle.
Grant applications are available online at www.perrycountysubstanceabuse. org. Deadline for submitting applications is 3 p.m. April 11. Applications can be mailed to PCSAC, P.O. Box 442, Tell City, or dropped off to Diane Conner, coordinator, at First United Metho-dist Church, 702 10th St., in Tell City.

DAR meeting set for April 6
TELL CITY – The Lafayette Spring Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their monthly meeting at 11 a.m. April 6 at the home of Patsy Alvey.

Euchre at Leopold April 6
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host euchre games April 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.
Perry Central band yard sale, silent auction
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Band Boosters will host the band’s annual yard sale, silent auction and vendors fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 6 at the dome on the Perry Central school grounds.
Admission to the event is free and the community is encouraged to attend. Booths will include Tupperware, Avon, woodworking and jewelry vendors. Vendors are still being accepted for the event and booth cost is $10. Call Cathy Blair at 843-4174 for more details.
The boosters are also still accepting items for the silent auction until April 5. To donate items, call Blair. Proceeds from the event will go to purchasing equipment, gear, flags, color-guard uniforms and other needed items for the band.
Euchre at the Sportsman Club April 6
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney April 6 at the club in Fulda.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end of the night. Refreshments will be available and the public is welcome to attend.
Bunco at the Cannelton Legion
CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Post 142 Auxiliary will hold a bunco fundraiser at 2 p.m. April 7 at the Cannelton post.
Admission is $5 per person. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, third and lowest scores. Free food and drinks will be available. Those attending must be 18 years and older.
Ghost Hunters fundraiser April 13
TELL CITY – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will host a cookout to benefit the Perry County Animal Shelter April 13. The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the animal shelter, 200 Herzeele St., in Cannelton.
Meals of hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be sold for $3. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the shelter. The community is encouraged to attend.
Dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital
TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host its first ever student dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital for Children from 3 to 9 p.m. April 20 in the school’s auxiliary gym.
Families who have been helped by the hospital are invited to attend the event. If you or a family you know has been helped in some way by the hospital, contact Darian Oliva by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or Angela Hilgenhold at email@example.com or contact Hilgenhold at the school at 547-3131. Families will be invited to share their stories and the children will receive gifts. Children will also get to make crafts and play games. Light refreshments will be served.

Team Bender pork-chop dinners April 27
SANTA CLAUS – Team Bender of Relay for Life of Spencer County will have pork-chop dinners available beginning at 11 a.m. April 27 at Old Tyme Liquors in Santa Claus.
Meals will include a pork chop, green beans and slaw. Requested donation is $8 per plate.
All proceeds go the American Cancer Society.
HIV testing offered at health department
PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Re-source Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.

CPR class registration open
PERRY COUNTY – Upcoming CPR classes will be held April 13 and May 25, and are now open for registration.

Updated meeting times for local NA group
TELL CITY – The Dopeless Hope Friends of Narcotics Anonymous have announced updated meeting times for its group.
Open discussion will be held at 9 a.m. Mondays, 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 5 p.m. Sundays. A candlelight beginner session or guest speaker will be held at 7 p.m. Fridays. The group meets at St. Luke’s Church, Third and Washington streets, in Cannelton.
Poker tournament at Santa Claus Legion
SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus Legion Post 242 will host Texas Hold’em tourneys each Saturday open to the public.
Games will begin at noon in the upstairs of the Legion. Sign in will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Parking will be available at the rear of the legion.
