Piloxing at TCJSHS
TELL CITY – A free piloxing class will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the auxiliary gym at Tell City Junior-Senior High School. The community is invited to attend.

Tractor association to gather Thursday

BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Branchville clubhouse.

Annual lip-sync contest Thursday

TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior Senior High School Renaissance Leadership class will host the annual Lip-Sync Contest at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school auditorium.
Guests may enter through the 12th Street doors. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Eighteen groups will perform and the public is invited to attend.

Relay team to sell chicken dinners
TELL CITY – The Relay for Life Lifesavers team will sell chicken dinners at 10 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 12th Street and Indiana 37 in Tell City.
Cost for the meals will be $8 and include half a chicken, creek fries and green beans.
There will also be baked goods available.

Egg hunt in Cannelton Saturday

CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Post 142 and its auxiliary unit will sponsor their annual Easter-egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cannelton Legion Field.
The event will be held rain or shine. Hunts will be held for four different age groups:  0 to 2 years olds, 3 to 4 years old, 5 to 7 years old and 8 to 10 years old. Eggs, candy and prizes will be available for all age groups.
Top prize will be a new bicycle, available for any child in the three older age groups. Children must bring their own baskets, etc. to collect eggs.

Orscheln Easter-egg hunt fundraiser
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply Store will host its annual Easter-egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny Saturday. Pictures will be taken from 1 to 3 p.m. Children and pets are welcome. 
A donation of $3 will be asked for the pictures and developed pictures will be mailed directly to parents’ home.
The Easter-egg hunt will begin at 2 p.m. and a donation of $1 per child will be asked. All proceeds from the event will go to the Humane Society of Perry County. For more information, contact the store at 547-7444.
The Humane Society will also accepting donations of new or recycled plastic eggs to help with future hunts. They may be dropped off at Orscheln Farm and Home.

Oakwood egg hunt Saturday

TELL CITY – The staff and residents of Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City invites the community to an Easter-egg hunt Saturday. Children ages 0 to 3 years old will hunt for ages at 9:15 a.m., children ages 4 to 6 years will start at 9:30 a.m. and ages 7 to 10 years will begin at 9:45 a.m.
The event is free to the public. Prizes will be available.

VFW breakfast Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will serve a breakfast buffet from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the post.
Cost is $6 per person and the public is invited.

PCSAC accepting grant requests

PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Substance Abuse Committee is accepting grant requests for the 2013-14 grant cycle.
Grant applications are available online at www.perrycountysubstanceabuse.org. Deadline for submitting applications is 3 p.m. April 11. Applications can be mailed to PCSAC, P.O. Box 442, Tell City, or dropped off to Diane Conner, coordinator, at First United Methodist Church, 702 10th St., in Tell City.  For more information, call Conner at 547-6538.
 
Saturday euchre at Leopold
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host euchre games April 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.

Perry Central band accepting donations

LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Band Boosters are now accepting donations for the band’s annual silent auction and vendors fundraiser.
To donate items for the silent auction, call Cathy Blair at 843-4174.
The group is also accepting vendors for the event. Booth cost is $10. Call Blair for more details.
The fundraiser will be held April 6 in the dome at Perry Central. Proceeds from the event will go to purchasing equipment, gear, flags, color-guard uniforms and other needed items for the band.

K of C Lenten dinners Friday
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., will conclude Lenten dinners Friday.
Serving is from 5 to 8 p.m. and the meal is open to the public. For more information, call the K of C at 547-3621.
    
Horseman Club last euchre game Saturday

TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host its final euchre game Saturday.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7.  Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second place $30 and third place $20.

Euchre at the Sportsman Club April 6
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney April 6 at the club in Fulda. 
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end of the night.
Refreshments will be available and the public is welcome to attend.

Bunco at the Cannelton Legion
CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Post 142 Auxiliary will hold a bunco fundraiser at 2 p.m. April 7 at the Cannelton post.
Admission is $5 per person. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, third places and lowest scores. Free food and drinks will be available. Those attending must be 18 years and older.  

TC Ghost Hunters fundraiser April 13
TELL CITY – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will host a cookout to benefit the Perry County Animal Shelter April 13. The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the animal shelter, 200 Herzeele St., in Cannelton.
Meals of hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be sold for $3. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the shelter. The community is encouraged to attend.

Dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital

TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host its first ever student dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital for Children from 3 to 9 p.m. April 20 in the school’s auxiliary gym.
Families who have been helped by the hospital are invited to attend the event.

Families will be invited to share their stories and the children will receive gifts. Children will also get to make crafts and play games. Light refreshments will be served.

Team Bender pork-chop dinners April 27
SANTA CLAUS – Team Bender of Relay for Life of Spencer County will have pork-chop dinners available beginning at 11 a.m. April 27 at Old Tyme Liquors in Santa Claus.
Meals will include a pork chop, green beans and slaw. Requested donation is $8 per plate. All proceeds go the American Cancer Society.

Updated meeting times for local NA group
TELL CITY – The Dopeless Hope Friends of Narcotics Anonymous have announced updated meeting times for its group.
Open discussion will be held at 9 a.m. Mondays, 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 5 p.m. Sundays. A candlelight beginner session or guest speaker will be held at 7 p.m. Fridays.
The group meets at St. Luke’s Church, Third and Washington streets, in Cannelton.

HIV testing offered at health department
PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Re-source Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.

Poker tournament at Santa Claus Legion
SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus Legion Post 242 will host Texas Hold’em tourneys each Saturday open to the public.
Games will begin at noon in the upstairs of the Legion. Sign in will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Parking will be available at the rear of the legion.

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month.
Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Only two appointments per person per month are allowed. Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.

CPR class registration now open to public

PERRY COUNTY – Upcoming CPR classes will be held April 13 and May 25, and are now open for registration.
These classes sponsored by the American Red Cross will be at the Tell City branch of the Perry County Public Library. The Web site to register for a class is www.redcross.org.
