Fish fry at St. Meinrad K of C Friday
ST. MEINRAD – The youth and young adults of St. Boniface and St. Meinrad Catholic churches will host a fish fry from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Knights of Columbus building in St. Meinrad.
Cost is $8.50 per meal and will include two pieces of fish, creek fries, slaw and a dessert.

‘Hunt for Easter’ Saturday
TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church will host “Hunt for Easter” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Schergens Center in Tell City.
Free children’s activities will be available and include an Easter-egg hunt, three inflatable bounce houses, a scavenger hunt, face painting, clown balloon animals and more. Parents are asked to take their own cameras for pictures with the Easter bunny.
Hamburgers, hot dogs and baked goods will be sold. All proceeds will go to support Zach Taylor, a local 19-year-old battling Hodgkin’s Disease and acute myeloid leukemia.
Prizes will also be given away throughout the day.
The community is invited and encouraged to attend.

Dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital
TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will host its first ever student dance marathon to benefit Riley Hospital for Children from 3 to 9 p.m. April 20 in the school’s auxiliary gym.
Families who have been helped by the hospital are invited to attend the event. If you or a family you know has been helped in some way by the hospital, contact Darian Oliva by e-mail at doliva2013@yahoo.com or Angela Hilgenhold at ahilgenhold@tellcity.k12.in.us or contact Hilgenhold at the school at 547-3131.
Families will be invited to share their stories and the children will receive gifts. Children will also get to make crafts and play games. Light refreshments will be served.
If you would like to donate money to Riley Hospital, contact any participating high-school student or mail checks made out to Supporting Riley Inc. to Tell City Junior-Senior High School, 900 12th Street, Tell City, IN 47586.

Greenwood cemetery spring clean next week
TELL CITY – Workers at Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City will begin the annual spring clean-up next week.
All articles must be pick-ed up by Sunday. Nothing is allowed on the ground during the spring and summer. Cemetery Sexton Earl Parker appreciates all public cooperation.

Breakfast at Twilight Towers Saturday

TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host a breakfast fundraiser beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday in the dining room at 1648 10th St. in Tell City.
Biscuits and gravy will be available for $2 for a full order or $1 for a half order. Available drinks will be coffee, milk and orange juice for 50 cents each. There also will be a bake sale set up. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Wrestling club to sell dinners
TELL CITY – The Tell City Wrestling Club will hold its annual Palm Sunday chicken and pork-chop cook-out Sunday.
Pre-sale dinners will be available from any club member and a limited number of dinners will be sold to the public on the day of the cook-out. Dinners will consist of chicken or a pork chop, creek fried potatoes and coleslaw. Cost will be $7.50 per meal. Serving will be from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. at Zoercher-Bettinger Park, 10th and Watt streets in Tell City.

St. Meinrad American Legion to sell barbecue dinners

ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad American Legion will sell barbecued chicken and pork chop dinners Sunday.
Dinners will be available after Mass at Village Hut in Fulda, St. Meinrad Church, St. Martin Church in Siberia and St. Meinrad American Legion Home.

Piloxing at TCJSHS
TELL CITY – A free piloxing class will be offered at 3:30 p.m. March 27 in the auxiliary gym at Tell City Junior-Senior High School. The community is invited to attend.

Annual lip-sync contest March 28
TELL CITY – The Tell City Junior Senior High School Renaissance Leadership Class will host its annual Lip-Sync Contest at 7:30 p.m. March 28 in the school auditorium.
Guests may enter through the 12th Street doors and tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
Eighteen groups will perform and the public is invited to attend.

Tractor association to gather March 28

BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. March 28 at the Branchville clubhouse.

Relay team to sell chicken dinners
TELL CITY – The Relay for Life Lifesavers team will sell chicken dinners at 10 a.m. March 30 at the corner of 12th Street and Indiana 37 in Tell City.
Cost for the meals will be $8 and include half a chicken, creek fries and green beans. There will also be baked goods available.

Egg hunt in Cannelton March 30
CANNELTON – Cannelton American Legion Post 142 and its auxiliary unit will sponsor their annual Easter-egg hunt at 1 p.m. March 30 at the Cannelton Legion Field.
The event will be held rain or shine. Hunts will be held for four different age groups:  0 to 2 years old, 3 to 4 years old, 5 to 7 years old and 8 to 10 years old.
Eggs, candy and prizes will be available for all age groups.
Top prize will be a new bicycle for any child in the three older age groups. Children must take their own baskets, etc. to collect eggs.

Orscheln Easter-egg hunt fundraiser

TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply Store will host its annual Easter-egg hunt and pictures with the Easter Bunny March 30.
Pictures will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Children and pets are welcome. 
A donation of $3 will be asked for the pictures and developed pictures will be mailed directly to your home.
The Easter-egg hunt will begin at 2 p.m. and a donation of $1 per child will be asked.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Humane Society of Perry County. For more information, contact the store at 547-7444.
The Humane Society will also accept donations of plastic eggs, new or recycled, to help with future hunts. These may be dropped off at Orscheln Farm and Home.

Free PCMH screenings

TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will offer free blood-pressure, glucose (sugar) and total-cholesterol screenings. This is a free community service offered at two different locations every month.
A registered nurse will be at Stein’s Garage in Lamar from 8 to 10 a.m. today.
Anyone who wishes to participate in the testing is asked to fast for two hours; an eight-hour fast is preferred.
Those testing may drink water and take medications.

PCSAC accepting grant requests
PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Substance Abuse Committee is accepting grant requests for the 2013-14 grant cycle.
Grant Applications are available online at www.perrycountysubstanceabuse. org. Deadline for submitting applications is 3 p.m. April 11. Applications can be mailed to PCSAC, P.O. Box 442, Tell City, or dropped off to Diane Conner, coordinator, at First United Methodist Church, 702 10th St., in Tell City.

Waninger birthday party Saturday
TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus residents and employees will host a birthday celebration for Catherine Waninger to celebrate her 104th birthday at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The community is invited to attend as well as send cards to mark the occasion. Cards may be sent addressed to Catherine at Oakwood Health Campus, 1143 23rd St., Tell City, IN 47586.

Saturday euchre at Leopold

LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host euchre games Saturday and April 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.

Perry Central band accepting donations
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Band Boosters are now accepting donations for the band’s annual silent auction and vendors fundraiser.
To donate items for the silent auction, call Cathy Blair at 843-4174.
The group is also accepting vendors for the event. Booth cost is $10. Call Blair for more details.
The fundraiser will be held April 6 in the dome at Perry Central. Proceeds from the event will go to purchasing equipment, gear, flags, color-guard uniforms and other needed items for the band.

St. Michael annual fish dinners

CANNELTON – The members of St. Michael Catholic Church are serving fish dinners the first six Fridays of lent.  
Meals are held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each Friday.
The meals include fried fish fillets or cheese pizza, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, dessert and drink. The price is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 6 years and younger.
All meals are served in Father Marendt Hall in the basement of the church. Takeout meals and delivery are available.
Deliveries can be arranged by calling 547-3363 or 547-5800. The community is invited to attend to share food, fellowship and support St. Michael’s.
There will be no dinners served Good Friday, March 29.

K of C Lenten dinners Fridays
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., are serving Lenten dinners every Friday until March 29.
Serving is from 5 to 8 p.m. and meals are open to the public. For more information, call the K of C at 547-3621.
    
Horseman Club last euchre game March 30
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host its final euchre game of the season March 30.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7.  Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second place $30 and third place $20.

Poker at Santa Claus Legion
SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus Legion Post 242 will host Texas Hold’em tourneys each Saturday open to the public.
Games will begin at noon in the upstairs of the Legion. Sign in will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Parking will be available at the rear of the legion.

Bunco at the Cannelton Legion
CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Post 142 Auxiliary will hold a bunco fundraiser at 2 p.m. April 7 at the Cannelton post.
Admission is $5 per person. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, third places and lowest scores. Free food and drinks will be available. Those attending must be 18 years or older.
