PC football families to meet
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will gather for a meeting at 6 p.m. today in the high-school study hall.

PCSAC accepting grant requests

PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Substance Abuse Committee is accepting grant requests for the 2013-14 grant cycle.
Grant applications are available online at www.perrycountysubstanceabuse.org. Deadline for submitting applications is 3 p.m. April 11. Applications can be mailed to PCSAC, P.O. Box 442, Tell City, or dropped off to Diane Conner, coordinator, at First United Methodist Church, 702 10th St., in Tell City.  For more information, call Conner at 547-6538.
 
Youth Refuge to gather Tuesday
CANNELTON – The next Youth Refuge meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Cotton Mill Community Room. Enter through the Adams St. entrance, in Cannelton.
The group will talk about the meaning of Easter, create an Easter craft and play a game. Snacks will be provided. The group encourages those attending to take a friend. Youth Refuge is for children in the third grade and up.

Spaghetti supper at St. Paul
TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will host a spaghetti supper fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the parish hall.
The menu will include spaghetti, marinara sauce, breadsticks, drinks and dessert. Cost is $7. A special appearance by St. Patrick is expected.
All money raised will benefit the St. Paul youth summer mission trip to Kenosha, Wis. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.

Scarf making class in Rockport Tuesday
ROCKPORT – A curly scarf making class will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the AHK Learning Center, Room 4 in Rockport.
Those attending are asked to take a No. 8, 9 or 10 knitting needle. Fee for the class is $15 and will include yarn needed for the project.

Saturday euchre at Leopold
LEOPOLD – The Leopold Conservation Club will host euchre games March 23 and April 6. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.

Perry Central band accepting donations
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Band Boosters are now accepting donations for the band’s annual silent auction and vendors fundraiser.
To donate items for the silent auction, call Cathy Blair at 843-4174.
The group is also accepting vendors for the event. Booth cost is $10. Call Blair for more details.
The fundraiser will be held April 6 in the dome at Perry Central. Proceeds from the event will go to purchasing equipment, gear, flags, color-guard uniforms and other needed items for the band.

Celebration for Catherine Waninger

TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus residents and employees will host a birthday celebration for Catherine Waninger to celebrate her 104th birthday at 2 p.m. March 24.
The community is invited to attend as well as send cards to mark the occasion. Cards may be sent address-ed to Catherine at Oakwood Health Campus, 1143 23rd St., Tell City, IN 47586.

St. Boniface fish dinner Friday

FULDA – The parish family of St. Boniface Catholic Church invites neighbors and friends to a fish dinner and an evening of fellowship Friday.
Fish dinners will be served from 3 to 7 p.m. Cost will be $9 for adults and $5 for children. The meal will consist of two boneless fish fillets, bread, dessert, drink and a choice of three sides: German fries, macaroni and cheese, baked beans or slaw. Takeout will be available.  
The parish center is located on Highway 545, south of the church. Proceeds will benefit the St. Boniface Parish Center.

Rome Mason Lodge quarterly dinner
ROME – Rome Lodge 133 Free and Accepted Masons will hold a carry-in quarterly supper at 6 p.m. March 16 at the lodge.
All masons, their families and friends are invited to enjoy the dinner and fellowship. For more information, contact Kenneth Wright at 836-2036.

St. Michael annual dinners
CANNELTON – The members of St. Michael Catholic Church are serving fish dinners the first six Fridays of lent.  
Meals are held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each Friday.
The meals include fried fish fillets or cheese pizza, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, dessert and drink. The price is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 6 years and under.
All meals are served in Father Marendt Hall in the basement of the church. Take out meals and delivery are available.
Deliveries can be arranged by calling 547-3363 or 547-5800. The community is invited to attend to share food, fellowship and support St. Michael’s.
There will be no dinners served Good Friday, March 29.

K of C Lenten dinners Fridays

TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., are serving Lenten dinners every Friday until March 29. Serving is from 5 to 8 p.m. and meals are open to the public. For more information, call the K of C at 547-3621.
    
Horseman Club sponsoring euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will continue to host euchre games Saturday and March 30.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7.  Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second place $30 and third place $20. Rules will be announced before each game. For more information, call 836-2127 or 836-2052.

Wine event for Relay team
FULDA – The Relay for Life Team Happy of Spencer County will host a wine and dine at the Sportsman Club in Fulda beginning at 3 p.m. March 16. Featured wineries will include Pepper’s Ridge Winery, Monkey Hollow Winery and Mystique Winery. Dinner will be catered by The Chateau. 
Wine-tasting-only tickets are still being sold. Cost is $10 and they can be purchased at the following locations: Tin Lizzies, St. Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop, Ruxer Furniture, Family Roots Nursery, Holiday Foods in Santa Claus, Evergreen Floral, Hopf Equipment and Gudorf Supply Company.
Tickets can also be purchased at the door the day of the event. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.

HIV testing offered at health department
PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Re-source Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.
