Concert to benefit museum
ROCKY POINT – Blue Heron Winery will host a Wine Over Water Concert to benefit the Perry County Museum Friday. Gates open at 5 p.m. with music from 6 to 8 p.m.
The evening will feature a performance by Mike “Fog” O’Brien and Memphis Beck, founding members of “Fall City Ramblers,” who traveled the Midwest and Upper South in the 60s and 70s playing early 20th century music.
A silent auction with many items from local artists and area tourist attractions will be available. Admission is $10 per person or $15 per couple.
Food for purchase from Rudy’s Catering and wines by Blue Heron Winery will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Perry County Museum’s restoration efforts at the old courthouse in Cannelton and educational outreach projects.

Steel Guitars to play at Karaoke Café
TELL CITY – The Steel Guitars’ second annual concert will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Karaoke Café, 124 Sixth Street in Tell City.
Admission to the event is free and seating will be limited. The public is invited to attend.
St. John’s chicken, ham supper Saturday
NEW BOSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church, located a half-mile west of New Boston, will have its annual chicken and ham supper Saturday. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m.
In addition to fried chicken and ham, there will be a variety of vegetables, desserts and homemade bread.
The country store will have crafts, baked items, quilts, fresh produce, plants and numerous other items. Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy.
Football families to meet Tuesday
LEOPOLD – Perry Central football families will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the high-school study hall.
Cookbooks to raise funds for Alzheimer’s
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
The books sell for $10 each and all proceeds go to the association.

St. Paul to host TGIF party
TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City will host an evening out for adults 21 and over Friday.
Beer, brats, burgers and a band will be at a TGIF party in the St. Paul church parking lot from 7 to 11 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by Above the Law.
All adults are invited.
Parent enrichment program set for Wednesday
TELL CITY – The Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start invites the public to attend a parent enrichment program from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Early Head Start at 321 Ninth Street in Tell City.

Parks and Rec board to meet
CANNELTON – The Perry County Parks and Re-creation board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the courthouse annex in Cannelton.
PCSAB breakfast set for June 15
TELL CITY – The Perry County Substance Abuse Council will hold their annual grant-awards breakfast at 8 a.m. June 15 at Bill and Dave’s Smokin’ Pit in Tell City.

Esther Burris Minto to turn 100 June 22
NASHVILLE – Esther Burris Minto will celebrate her 100th birthday June 22.
She taught three generations of piano students over the years. She would enjoy getting cards from her friends and students.

VNA Plus conducts screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers.

PCMH to offer screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.

Zumba program in Birdseye
BIRDSEYE – A four-week Zumba fitness program offered by Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays, June 11, 18 and 25 in the Birdseye Park Shelter House in Birdseye.
Classes are led by Ashley Recker and Susan Weisheit, certified Zumba fitness instructors. The cost of the program is $24.
Pre-registration is required. This class is held outdoors so participants are asked to take plenty of water.
