Plastic-mat making at senior center
TELL CITY – The William Tell Senior Center, 1307 11th Street in Tell City, will host another plastic-mat-making session at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Those attending are asked to take scissors and plastic bags from Wal-Mart, Cash-n-Save, etc. Everyone is welcome to participate. The event is free. For more information, call 547-2714.

Football families to meet
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Perry Central High School Study Hall.

UMC to host rummage sale Thursday, Friday
TELL CITY – The United Methodist Church in Tell City will hold a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Pricing will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Items can be taken to the stage in the social hall. For more information, contact Shirley Garner at 836-2847.

K of C chicken dinner sale Saturday in Tell City
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will sell chicken dinners at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Seventh and Tell streets in Tell City, behind the K of C building. Cost will be $7 per meal.

Quilt show at St. Boniface
FULDA – St. Boniface Catholic Church will host its annual quilt show from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday.
The public is invited to stop by to view and vote for their favorite quilts. The quilt raffle will conclude festivities for the church’s annual picnic at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 5. 

Leo on the Lawn at Oakwood July 26
TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will host Leo on the Lawn with musician Leo Gronquist at 6:30 p.m. July 26.
The public is invited to take their lawn chairs and join Oakwood staff and residents for an evening of entertainment. Walking tacos and Italian ice cream will be served.

Hunter-ed course in Chrisney July 24, 25
CHRISNEY – Cornerstone Methodist Church, 1407 E. State Road 70 in Chrisney, will host an Indiana Hunter Education Course from 6 to 9:30 p.m. July 24, 25 and 26. To register, call (812) 937-2438.

Tractor association to meet July 26
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. July 26 at the Branchville Conservation Club. For more information, contact Ed Guillaume at 843-5746.

Cookbooks to raise funds for Alzheimer’s
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
The books sell for $10 each and all proceeds go to the association. Anyone interested in purchasing a book can contact Sanders at 547-6787 or 719-0816.

PCMH to offer screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.
The screenings are offered free of charge to the public. For more information, contact PCMH at 547-0392.

Lilly Dale revival continues until Wednesday
TELL CITY – A revival is being held at the Lilly Dale Church of Christ now until Wednesday.
Guest speaker will be Brother Sam Marsh, who was preacher at Lilly Dale in the 1980s and 90s. Marsh and his wife, Joan, live in Cynthiana, Ky. They have 2 sons, Ben and Adam, and a daughter Ginna. The parish will meet at 7 p.m. each evening for services Sunday through Wednesday as well.

VNA Plus to conduct screenings July 26
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers. The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. July 26. For more information, call VNA at 547-7967.
