Yard sale to benefit Autism Speaks
TELL CITY – A multi-family yard sale will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Indiana Realty, 331 Main St. Tell City, to benefit Autism Speaks.
Local runners Blair Walsh and Tyler Rainey will run in the Chicago Marathon in October and have a goal to raise $3,000 before the race. This fundraiser is one of several future events to help them reach that goal.
The community is encouraged to attend.

Youth Refuge summer bash
CANNELTON – Youth Refuge will have a summer bash from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, Fourth Street in Cannelton.
There will be games, prizes, food and drinks.

Euchre tourney at Sportsman
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday at the club in Fulda. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m.
There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end of the night. Refreshments will be available and the public is welcome to attend.

Ice-cream social in Tobinsport

TOBINSPORT – Clayton Harris Memorial United Methodist Church in Tobinsport will host an ice-cream social at 5 p.m. Sunday.
There will be ice cream and some Bible trivia games. Those attending can be participants in the games or be the cheering section. Everyone is invited to take favorite ice-cream toppings and friends.
There is no charge for this time of fellowship. All are invited to attend.

Football families to meet Monday

LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the high-school study-hall room.
Salsa workshop Tuesday
CHRISNEY – The public is invited to learn the basics of making and preserving salsa. Purdue Extension is hosting a hands-on salsa workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Spencer County Youth and Community Center near Chrisney. 
Participants will prepare and take home a jar of freshly preserved salsa, along with all the skills needed to make more. Cost is $5 per person and class size is limited. To register, call the extension office in Spencer County at (812) 649-6022.

Fallen Officer Blood Drive Wednesday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Police Department will sponsor a Fallen Officer Blood Drive in honor of Indiana fallen officers from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The drive will be at the American Red Cross bus, 707 Mozart St., in Tell City.

Novice ghost hunt in Cannelton

CANNELTON – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will host a novice hunt at the Perry County Museum in Cannelton from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. July 20.
Novice hunts are designed for individuals who are interested in paranormal activity but are not a part of an organized team. The group will have equipment for participants to use. Cost is $25 per person and only six tickets will be available. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Santa at Celina Lake July 20

PERRY COUNTY – Santa Claus will make a special appearance at Celina Lake in the Hoosier National Forest form 2 to 5 p.m. July 20.
Everyone is invited to join the jolly saint for Christmas in July at the Rickenbaugh House.

Oakwood’s day at the movies
TELL CITY – Oakwood and Care One Home Health will host a senior citizens day at the movies every third Wednesday of the month at Tell City Cinemas.
A free movie will be shown with a choice of current films available, popcorn and a soft drink.
Doors will open at noon and the movie will begin at 1.

Living Bread Food Pantry open to public
TELL CITY – The Living Bread Food Pantry, an outreach program of Tell Street Baptist Church, offers prayer, Christian guidance and food to the needy families in the surrounding area.
Anyone is invited to schedule an appointment Saturdays, except the first of the month. Appointments can be made by calling 547-4500 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Only two appointments per person per month are allowed. Inquiries about the church’s Sunday services are also welcome.

Zumba at Schergens Center

TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students are admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are asked to wear athletic shoes, take water and a towel and to arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
Elementary children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
