Legion chicken dinners Jan. 27

TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 in Tell City will sell fried chicken dinners beginning at noon Jan. 27 at the post home.
Dinners will cost $4.95 and include two sides. Dine in or carry out will be available.

Bunco night at Cannelton Legion
CANNELTON – The Cannelton Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a bunco night Jan. 29. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 6:30.
Entry fee is a $5 donation.
All proceeds will go to the Cannelton American Legion. Free refreshments will be served.
Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place, as well as last place.

Band fundraiser at Chicago’s Pizza

TELL CITY – The Tell City Marching Marksmen will hold a fundraiser at 4 p.m. Jan. 22 at Chicago’s Pizza in Tell City.
The fundraiser will be an all-you-can-eat pizza and breadstick event.
The cost is $8 per person, which will include a meal and drink.
The community is invited and encouraged to attend and support the Marching Marksmen.

Horseman Club sponsoring euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host euchre games now through March. Events will continue Saturday, Feb. 2, Feb. 16 and March 2, 16 and 30.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7.  Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second-place $30 and third place $20.

Optimist club to host annual chili dinner Saturday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Optimist Club will host its annual chili dinner at Tell City Junior-Senior High School at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Dinner includes chili, hot dog, dessert and drink. All proceeds go to community youth programs.
Tickets are $7 each and are available through Jane Kessans at Hair Tech, Jonie Little at the Tell City Water Department or by calling Curt at 548-0639.
Tickets will also be available at the door.

Euchre at Fulda Sportsman
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday at the club in Fulda.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m.
There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end of the night. 
Refreshments will be available and the public is welcome to attend.

Parent enrichment program Jan. 24

TELL CITY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start invites the public to attend a  parent enrichment program scheduled from 11 a.m. to noon Jan. 24 at LHDC Early Head Start, 321 Ninth Street in Tell City.
The January topic is nutrition with speaker Heather Shrum of Martha Gregory and Associates. Light refreshments will be served.

Euchre at Leopold Conservation Club
LEOPOLD – Euchre games will be held at the Leopold Conservation Club through April.
Games will be held Saturday and continued Feb. 9 and 23, March 9 and 23 and April 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.
The club will not host euchre games Jan. 26 as members will participate in the fundraiser for Zach Taylor Jan. 26 at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds.
All are asked to attend the benefit and lend support.

DAR meeting Feb. 7
CANNELTON – The Lafayette Spring Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 7. Hostess will be Lucy Goffinet.
A program on early president coins will be presented by Zella Gilbert.

Tractor association to meet Jan. 24
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Branchville Conservation Club.

VNA Plus plans screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers. The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Jan. 24.

Nancy Hanks Lincoln pilgrimage Feb. 10
LINCOLN CITY – The annual pilgrimage to Nancy Hanks Lincoln’s Memorial at the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial Museum will begin at 2 p.m. Feb. 10.
All Daughters of the American Revolution members are encouraged to attend.

Hoosier Days in Florida
SEBRING, Fla. – Indiana residents visiting Florida during the winter are invited to the annual Hoosier Days Feb. 3 at Homer’s Buffet, on the corner of Highway 27 and Sebring Parkway across from Wal-Mart, in Sebring.
Sign in for the lunch will be at 11 a.m. and the meal will begin at noon.
