Stolen Blessings fundraiser Saturday

HUNTINGBURG – A fundraiser for Stolen Blessings will be held Saturday in Huntingburg at Reflections. A live auction will be open to the public at 7 p.m. EST.

T-shirts printed at Hauenstein’s in Tell City are also available and include the Stolen Blessings logo.

VNA Plus plans screenings today

TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers. The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. today.

Poker tournament at Santa Claus Legion

SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus Legion Post 242 will host Texas Hold’em tourneys beginning Saturday and continuing each Saturday.
Games will begin at noon in the upstairs of the legion. Sign in will be from 11 a.m. to noon.
Parking will be available at the rear of the legion.

Tobinsport cemetery meeting Monday

TOBINSPORT – The Tobinsport Cemetery Improvement and Maintenance Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday the Clayton Harris Memorial United Methodist Church in Tobinsport.
Officers will be elected. All those with an interest in Simon or Lamb cemeteries in Tobinsport are encouraged to attend.

Parent program at Early Head Start

TELL CITY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start invites the public to attend a parent-enrichment program from 11 a.m. to noon March 7 at LHDC Early Head Start, 321 Ninth Street in Tell City.
The March topic is education opportunities with speaker Kevin Hunter of the ACE Academy. Light refreshments will be served.

Euchre at the Sportsman
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney March 9 at the club in Fulda.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end of the night. 
Refreshments will be available and the public is welcome to attend.

PC football families to meet March 11

LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will gather for a meeting at 6 p.m. March 11 in the high-school study hall.

Perry Central band accepting donations

LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Band Boosters are now accepting donations for the band’s annual silent auction and vendors fundraiser.
To donate items for the silent auction, call Cathy Blair at 843-4174.
The group is also accepting vendors for the event. Booth cost is $10. Call Blair for more details.
The fundraiser will be held April 6 in the dome at Perry Central.
Proceeds from the event will go to purchasing equipment, gear, flags, color-guard uniforms and other needed items for the band.

St. Michael annual fish dinners

 CANNELTON – The members of St. Michael Catholic Church are serving fish dinners during the first six Fridays of lent.  
Meals are served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each Friday.
The meals include fried fish fillets or cheese pizza, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, dessert and drink. The price is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 6 years and under.
All meals will be served in Father Marendt Hall in the basement of the church. Take-out meals and delivery will be available.
Deliveries can be arranged by calling 547-3363 or 547-5800. The community is invited to attend to share food, fellowship and support St. Michael’s.
There will be no dinners served Good Friday, March 29.

K of C Lenten dinners Fridays

TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., will hold Lenten dinners every Friday until March 29.
Serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and meals are open to the public. For more information, call the K of C at 547-3621.
    
Horseman Club sponsoring euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host euchre games now through March. The next set of games will continue Saturday and March 16 and 30.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7.  Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second-place $30 and third place $20.

Euchre at Leopold Conservation Club
LEOPOLD – Euchre games will be held at the Leopold Conservation Club through April. Games will continue March 9 and 23 and April 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.

HIV testing offered at health department
PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Resource Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.

Wine, dine event for Relay team
FULDA – The Relay for Life Team Happy of Spencer County will host a wine and dine at the Sportsman Club in Fulda.
Featured wineries will include Pepper’s Ridge Winery, Monkey Hollow Winery and Mystique Winery. Dinner will be catered by The Chateau. 
Wine tasting and dinner tickets can be purchased in advance until Monday. Tickets for both wine tasting and dinner are $20, and can be purchased at the following locations: Tin Lizzies, St. Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop, Ruxer Furniture, Family Roots Nursery, Holiday Foods in Santa Claus, Evergreen Floral, Hopf Equipment and Gudorf Supply Co.
Wine-tasting-only tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door the day of the event at 3 p.m. March 16. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life.     

Zumba at Schergens Center Mondays
TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students are admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are asked to wear athletic shoes, take water and a towel and to arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
Elementary children at-tending must be accompanied by an adult.

Zumba classes at Perry Central

LEOPOLD – Zumba classes are held at Perry Central at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium each Wednesday during February.
Classes last one hour and cost for is $5 every meeting. A portion of each month’s proceeds is donated to a charitable cause.
Everyone is invited to participate.
