Legion to sell pork-chop dinners
TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion Post 213 will sell pork-chop dinners Sunday starting at 12:30 p.m.
Meals will include pork chops, creek fries and baked beans. Cost is $8 per plate.
Horseman club will sponsor euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host euchre games now through March. Events are planned for Saturday, Feb. 18 and March 3, 17 and 31.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7. Cost at the door is $5 per person.

First Friday screening at Memorial Hospital
JASPER – Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will sponsor a “First Friday Health Screening” from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday in the Community Relations Classroom at Memorial Southside Office, 1100 West 12th Avenue in Jasper.
Participants must be 18 years or older and will have cholesterol including total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides and blood glucose checked via finger stick.
A 12-hour fast is required; however, you may drink water and take prescribed medications.
The cost is $25 and may be paid at the screening. The screening lasts approximately 15 minutes, and pre-registration is required. To register for the screening, or for more information, visit Memorial Hospital’s Web site at www.mhhcc.org and click on “Health Screenings.” Enter the company name as “Memorial Hospital” and enter “2012” as the password. Parks and rec board to meet Wednesday
CANNELTON – The Perry County Parks and Recreation board will hold its monthly meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the courthouse annex in Cannelton.
SC Relay for Life captain meeting Monday
DALE – Relay for Life of Spencer County will hold its first team captains meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Carter Fire Department in Dale. Anyone interested in starting a team or who has a team ready is invited to join the meeting.
Information packets will be available and a team sign-up will take place. The topic of the meeting will be fundraising.

Humane Society to gather Tuesday
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fifth Third bank in Tell City.

St. Meinrad Legion to host dance Feb. 11
ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366 will host a Valentine Dine and Dance Feb. 11 at the St. Meinrad American Legion Hall.
Tickets need to be purchased in advance at the Le-gion home or by calling (812) 357-5583. Admission price of $15 per person includes meal, drinks and dance. Music will be provided by The Good Times Country Band. The meal will be served at 5:30 p.m.
Hoosier Day in Sebring
SEBRING, Fla. – The annual Hoosier Day in Sebring has been scheduled for Saturday at Homer’s Buffet at the corner of Highway 27 and Sebring Parkway across from Wal-Mart.
Sign in is at 11 a.m. and the meal will be at noon.
Twilight Towers to host dance
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host a Valentine’s dance open to the public from 7 until 10 p.m. Feb. 17. Crosswinds will provide entertainment.
PC Softball team to sell dinners Feb. 19
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central softball team will sell chicken dinners starting at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19 in Leopold Park. Dinners will cost $7.
VNA Plus blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers.
The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 23.

PCMH to offer screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will hold blood-pressure and blood-screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.

Southern Indiana reunion set for Feb. 9
SARASOTA, Fla. – An annual southern Indiana reunion will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at the Super Buffet VI in the Sarasota Crossings Shopping Center, 5471 Fruitville Road, in Sarasota.
