Humane Society to meet Tuesday
TELL CITY – The Humane Society of Perry County will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the community room at Fifth Third Bank in Tell City.

Oakwood Fat Tuesday dinner
TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City will hold a Fat Tuesday dinner from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12.
The dinner will include sausage and pancakes. Everyone is invited to attend and wear their Mardi Gras best.
Cannelton Legion auxiliary to meet
CANNELTON – The Cannelton American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be held Tuesday at the post home in Cannelton. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
All members are urged to attend.
Youth Refuge group to meet Tuesday
CANNELTON – Youth Refuge will hold its monthly meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Cotton Mill Community Room.
Children in third grade and up from the community are invited to attend and encouraged to take a friend.
Those attending are asked to use the Adams Street entrance to the Cotton Mill. The group will talk about God’s love, play games and have refreshments.
Parks and Rec meeting Wednesday
CANNELTON – The Perry County Parks and Recreation board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the courthouse annex in Cannelton.
VFW Ash Wednesday meal
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will host an Ash Wednesday buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the post home in Tell City.
The buffet is open to the public. For more information, contact the VFW.
Boy Scouts fish dinner Friday
TELL CITY – Boy Scout Troop 192 will hold its annual all-you-can-eat fish dinner Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall.
Serving will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Carryout will be available. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.
St. Michael fish dinners start Friday
CANNELTON – The members of St. Michael Catholic Church will again serve fish dinners the first six Fridays of lent.
Meals will begin Friday and be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. each Friday.
The meal will include fried fish fillets or cheese pizza, baked beans, coleslaw, cornbread, dessert and drink.
The price is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 6 years and under.
All meals will be served in Father Marendt Hall in the basement of the church. Takeout meals and delivery will be available.
Deliveries can be arranged by calling 547-3363 or 547-5800.
The community is invited to attend to share food, fellowship and support St. Michael’s.
No dinners will be served Good Friday, March 29.
K of C Lenten dinners start Friday
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., will hold Lenten dinners every Friday beginning Feb. 15 and continuing until March 29.
Serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and meals are open to the public. For more information, call the K of C at 547-3621.
PC Marines to meet Saturday
TELL CITY – The Perry County Marines group will meet at 2 p.m. Feb. 16. Any interested Marines or FMF Corps are invited to attend. For more information, contact Jeff Devillez at 719-9325.
Bowl for the Cure Saturday
TELL CITY – Jennifer Hendry and Mandy Weigand of the Evansville and Newburgh CVS Pharmacy locations, respectively, will host a Bowl for the Cure event at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The event will be a nine-pin, no-tap tourney. Teams of one male and one female are required to enter.
Those interested can sign up at the Tell City Bowling Center. Cost is $20 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Euchre at the Fulda Sportsman Feb. 23
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Feb. 23 at the club in Fulda.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7. There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded at the end.
Refreshments will be provided. The public is invited to attend.
Horseman Club sponsoring euchre games
TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman Club will host euchre games now through March. The next set of games will continue Saturday and March 2, 16 and 30.
Chili, hot dogs, desserts, soft drinks and coffee will be available at 6 p.m. with games at 7. Cost at the door is $5 per person.
Prizes will be awarded for high points. First place will receive $50, second place $30 and third place $20.

Euchre at Leopold Conservation Club
LEOPOLD – Euchre games will be held at the Leopold Conservation Club through April. Games will continue Feb. 23, March 9 and 23 and April 6.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will start at 7. Food and refreshments will be available.
HIV testing offered at health department
PERRY COUNTY – Did you know that someone becomes infected with HIV every 9.5 minutes?
Get tested and know your status, urges the AIDS Resource Group of Evansville, which offers free and confidential HIV testing at the Perry County Health Department the second Tuesday of every month. Hours are 1 to 3 p.m.

VNA Plus plans screenings Feb. 27
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers.
The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 27.

Zumba at Schergens Center Mondays
TELL CITY – Everbody’s in Tell City and Perry County Wellness are sponsoring Zumba classes at the Schergens Center at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
Cost is $3 per class or $12 for five sessions. Perry County students are admitted to classes for free.
Those attending are asked to wear athletic shoes, take water and a towel and to arrive a few minutes early to sign in.
Elementary children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
Zumba classes at Perry Central
LEOPOLD – Zumba classes are held at Perry Central at 6:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium each Wednesday during February.
Classes last one hour and cost is $5 every meeting. A portion of each month’s proceeds is donated to a charitable cause.
Everyone is invited to participate.
Perry County day in Florida Feb. 21
VENICE, Fla. – Perry County Day on the Gulf Coast of Florida will be held Feb. 21. It is an annual gathering of southern Indiana Hoosiers living in Florida and organized by Perry County natives.
Snowbirds, vacationers and those with ties to the area are welcome to attend. There will be two events. The day will start with a lunch at 11 a.m. at the Habachi Grill, formerly Marco Polo’s, at 549 U.S. Highway 41 Bypass North in Venice.
Then a happy-hour gathering will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Trader Vic’s, 351 N. Cattleman Road in Sarasota, Fla., just off I-75 at Fruitville.
