Fundraiser meal at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host a fundraiser dinner in the dinning room Friday, Jan. 7.
The meal will begin at 5 p.m. and will be open to the public.
The menu will include vegetable soup, cornbread, coffee, tea and lemonade. Cost will be $3 a bowl with cornbread. Drinks will cost 50 cents.

Alzheimer’s support group meets Jan. 4
TELL CITY – The Alzheimer’s support group will hold its monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 4 in the fellowship hall at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City. The meetings are open for support and information for those affected by Alzheimer’s.

Golf scramble set for Saturday
CHRISNEY – A “hangover scramble” will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 at the Chrisney Golf Course.
Cost for the scramble will be $5.

VFW men’s auxiliary meeting moved
TELL CITY – The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 men’s auxiliary have changed their meeting time.
Meetings will now take place at 7 p.m. every fourth Wednesday of the month at the VFW.

Chess club cancels December meeting
TELL CITY – The Perry County Chess Club will not have its monthly meeting in December.
The next meeting will be Jan. 25 at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library.

VNA to offer blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings at Twilight Towers in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday and Jan. 18 at Wal-Mart in Tell City and from 9 to 10 a.m. Jan. 25 at Twilight Towers.

PC Florida reunion
VENICE, Fla. – The Perry County Reunion will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Marco Polo Restaurant, located at the North 41 bypass in Venice.
This reunion is held every year on the third Thursday of February. The group visits, performs music and enjoys seeing friends from home. The attendance is approximately 60 people.

Snowbirds to meet in February
SEBRING, Fla. – An annual gathering of local residents who flock to Florida for the winter months will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at Homer’s Restaurant in Sebring, Fla.
The group will meet for lunch and fellowship. Drawings will be made for prizes.
As in the past, attendees will pay at the door, be directed to the correct room and a collection will be made for the waitress’ tip. No reservations are required.

TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will no longer offer Friday night dinners.
They will open the dining room again around Lent.

Euchre tourney at TC Legion
TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 will hold a euchre tournament at 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at the post in Tell City.
The public is invited to attend.

Conservation district’s annual meeting is Jan. 25
PERRY COUNTY – Plans are in place for the 2011 Perry County Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual meeting. The 63rd gathering of the district will begin at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Bristow Community Center.
James Lynch from O’Bannon Woods State Park will be the featured speaker and will share fun facts about native wildlife.
Cost of the dinner is $5 per person and $3 for children ages 12 and younger. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the SWCD office at 547-4686. Reservations are due by Jan. 20.

Talk To a Lawyer clinic is Jan. 6
EVANSVILLE – The first 2011 monthly Talk To a Lawyer call in clinic, co-sponsored by Volunteer Lawyer Program of Southwestern Indiana and the Evansville Bar Foundation, will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6.

Talk To a Lawyer sessions take place the first Thursday of the month and have been a continuing program since 2002. More than 1,000 calls received and answered by volunteer attorneys throughout southwestern Indiana.
