VNA to offer blood- pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings at Wal-Mart and Twilight Towers in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Dec. 21 at Wal-Mart and from 9 to 10 a.m. Dec. 28 at Twilight Towers.

Optimist blanket drive under way
TELL CITY – The Tell City Optimist Club members are sponsoring a blanket drive to help provide new blankets and throws for residents in need.
Items can be dropped off at any German American location in Tell City, the Evangelical United Church of Christ or St. Paul Cath-olic Church.
Boxes will be in place until Dec. 18. Items will be distributed by Catholic Charities.

Orscheln’s toy drive ends Wednesday
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Store will sponsor a toy drive for Toys for Tots.
Take new toys to the Orscheln store as a donation by Wednesday to ensure the kids get them for Christmas.

Wine-tasting party Saturday
SANTA CLAUS – A wine tasting party will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Christmas Lake Golf Course in Santa Claus.
Cost is $10 per person and will include a souvenir glass and free wine samples from five Indiana wineries.

Christmas art, craft show in Santa Claus
SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus Christmas celebration arts and crafts show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the Santa Claus Community Center, 200 Holiday Boulevard.
The show will feature a variety of quality handmade arts and crafts.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Legion karaoke contest ends Friday
TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion Post 213 is sponsoring a karaoke contest will conclude Friday night with a final judging performance.
To qualify for the final judging, contestants must have appeared four out of the 13 weeks. Special awards will be given for perfect attendance. Judging will be by members of local bands.
Cash prizes will also be given out.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with qualifying starting at 7. Cover charge is $2 per person. A cash bar and grill will be open at 6 p.m.

K of C offers dinner service to public
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus, 947 11th St., will open its dining room to the public and serve dinners from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday nights.
Fiddlers, catfish filets and tilapia will be offered each week along with fried chicken and ribeye steaks on special.

Man to Man support group meeting Tuesday
EVANSVILLE – The American Cancer Society will host A Man to Man Prostate Cancer Support Group at Evansville Cancer Center from 6:30 to 8 P.M. Tuesday.
This session is for men only and will be an open discussion for all attendees.
All sessions are free and refreshments will be served. No advance registration is required.

Chess club cancels December meeting
TELL CITY – The Perry County Chess Club will not have its monthly meeting in December.
The next meeting will be Jan. 25 at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library.

Orscheln’s offers free camp-dry application
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply is sponsoring a free camp-dry application.
Anyone is invited to take in old bibs and coats and the staff will make them water-resistant again for free.

Snowbirds to meet in February
SEBRING, Fla. – An annual gathering of local residents who flock to Florida for the winter months will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 5 at Homer’s Restaurant in Se-bring, Fla.
The group will meet for lunch and fellowship. Drawings will be conducted for prizes.
As in the past, attendees will pay at the door, be directed to the correct room and a collection will be taken for the waitress’ tip. No reservations are required.
