Substance-abuse committee moves meeting
TELL CITY – The December meetings of the Perry County Substance Abuse Committee have been moved from Dec. 28 to Dec. 21.
The board of directors will meet at noon and the full committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 702 10th St. in Tell City.

Legion to ring in New Year Dec. 31
TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion Post 213 will host a New Year’s Eve party Dec. 31 at the post home.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. Cost is $10 per person.

Sportsman New Year’s Eve dine, dance
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a New Year’s Eve dine and dance Dec. 31 at the club.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. with a home-cooked dinner served at 6:30. The dance will be from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with music provided by Final Tour.
Cost is $15 per person and will include party favors and setups.

VFW members to celebrate history Jan. 21
TELL CITY – Members of Tell City American Legion Winchell-Vogel Post 2939 will celebrate its 78-year history with a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the post home.
The dinner is for members only.
A dance, which will be open to the public, will begin at 8 p.m. and entertainment will be provided by Leo Gronquist and The Paradise Band.
Cover charge will be $5 per person at the door.

New Year’s Eve party at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – There will be a New Year’s Eve party in the dining room of Twilight Towers, 1648 10th St. in Tell City, from 9 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31.
This party is open to residents and the public. The music will be provided by the band Crosswinds. Snacks, coffee and lemonade will be available. No smoking or alcohol will be permitted.
There will be no cover charge but donations will be appreciated.

VNA Plus blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus will hold blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers.
The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Dec. 22.

PCMH offers screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will hold blood-pressure and blood-screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.
The screenings will be offered free of charge to the public.

German American selling candles for Relay
TELL CITY – The three locations of German American in Tell City are selling a selection of candles for Relay for Life.
The candles cost $7 each. Proceeds will benefit the 2012 German American Relay for Life team.

Hoosier Day in Sebring in Feb.
SEBRING, Fla. – The annual Hoosier Day in Sebring has been scheduled for Feb. 4 at Homer’s Buffet at the corner of Highway 27 and Sebring Parkway across from Wal-Mart.
Sign in is at 11 a.m. and the meal will be at noon.
