TELL CITY – Tell City Cub Pack 192 will have sign-ups for new scouts at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 6 at St. Paul Catholic Church Parish, located on Main Street in Tell City.

TELL CITY – We The Youth of Perry County will host a car wash from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 8 at the Lincoln Park Plaza in Tell City.
Rain date is set for 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 15 at the same location. Donations will also be accepted.

Cookbooks raise funds for Alzheimer’s
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. The price of the books has been reduced to $8 each and all proceeds go to the association.

DAR first meeting of the year Sept. 6
CANNELTON – The Daughters of the American Revolution Lafayette Spring Chapter will hold its first meeting for the 2012-13 year at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Patio Steak House. Those who wish to learn more about DAR are invited to attend.

Christmas Bazaar at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – The annual Christmas Bazaar at Twilight Towers will start at 6 a.m. Sept. 15 in the dining room, 1648 10th St. in Tell City.
There will be holiday items for sale, a quilt raffle, bake sale and a biscuits-and-gravy breakfast. A half order will be $1 and a full order will be $2.
Drinks available will be coffee, milk and orange juice for 50 cents each.
Casting call for Les Miserables
REO – Auditions for children’s roles in the South Spencer High School production of “Les Miserables – The High School Edition” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 15, in the school auditorium. Students in third through fifth grades should come prepared to sing a song, not sing along with a song from the radio.

Hunter-ed class in Evansville
EVANSVILLE – Angel Mounds State Historic Site will sponsor an Indiana hunter education program from 8 a.m. Sept. 29 and 30. Attendance both days is mandatory.
Indiana law requires that anyone born after Dec. 31, 1986, must attend this course in order to purchase a hunting license. The course is free.
The class will be geared toward youth, but all ages are welcome. Those attending are asked to take writing utensils. Refreshments will not be served and pre-registration is required by calling (812) 789-9538.
