Window-art event Saturday at Orscheln’s
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply will sponsor a free kid’s clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Visitors will be invited to make window art. For more information, call 547-7444.

PC football sweatpants, shirts for sale
LEOPOLD – Perry Central football attire is now on sale to the public as a fundraiser for the school’s football program.
T-shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants are available in gray and green with proceeds going toward food for players before and after games.

Tractor association to meet Sept. 1
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Branchville Conservation Club.
New members are always welcome to attend.

John Williams Memorial poker run Sept. 10
TELL CITY – The John Williams Memorial Poker Run will be held at Braunies Bar, 318 Main Street in Tell City Sept. 10 with a rain date of Sept 11. Registration is from 9 to 11 a.m. All bikes will head out at 11. All bikes in will need to be in at 4:30 p.m. 
Cost is $10 per hand and $15 for double. Meal, door prizes and a half pot will also be available. All vehicles are welcome.

Orscheln selling produce for March of Dimes
TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Supply is now selling homegrown produce. All proceeds are donated to the Perry-Spencer March of Dimes.
Anyone interested in donating garden produce for the March of Dimes, call the store at 547-7444.

Aluminum can drive for Humane Society
TELL CITY – The Perry County Democrats are holding their annual aluminum-can drive at the Democratic Headquarters on the corner of Reuben and 12th streets in Tell City.
All proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society.

Red Cross class Saturday
TELL CITY – The Red Cross will sponsor a CPR, first-aid and AED class from 9 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library.

Sportsman euchre games Saturday in Fulda
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Saturday at the club in Fulda. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with play beginning at 7 p.m.
There will be six 20-minute games with prizes awarded. Refreshments will be available throughout the evening. The public is welcome to attend.

Perry County chess club to meet Aug. 30 at library
TELL CITY – The Perry County Chess Club will meet for its monthly gathering from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Tell City-Perry County Public Library.
Chess instruction will be given for 30 minutes before participants are allowed to play games for the remaining time.
All participants, including beginners, are welcome to attend.

VNA Plus to offer blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – Visiting Nurse Association Plus will offer free blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings in Tell City.
Screenings are scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Twilight Towers and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Sept. 6 and 20 at Wal-Mart.

Ferdinand Legion to host shooting match
FERDINAND – Ferdinand American Legion will host shooting matches every Friday night for beef and pork.
The closed match will start at 8:30 p.m. First choice is half a beef.

Social Security reps to visit TC
TELL CITY – A representative from the Social Security office will be available to answer questions and provide information to county residents during the coming months.
Most Social Security business can be conducted by phone; however, if you prefer, you can meet with a representative Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon at City Hall in Tell City.

Back-to-school pizza buffet Sunday
MARIAH HILL – The Heritage Hills Marching Patriots Band Boosters will host a back-to-school pizza buffet from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Chateau in Mariah Hill.
The buffet will include pizza, breadsticks with cheese and drink. Prices are $8 for adults 11 years older, $5 for children ages 3 to 10 and free for children 2 years and younger.

Grief support group meeting open to public
TELL CITY – A grief support group meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the First United Methodist Church in Tell City.
The meeting is open to the public. The next meeting will be held Sept. 20. The church is located at 702 10th St. and is handicap accessible. For more information, contact Jeff or Betty Jones at 547-6725.

Annual Civil War Ball in September
ROCKPORT – The Friends, Rockport Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum will again host a Civil War-era Ball, Sept. 24 in the Spencer County Courthouse rotunda.
