March of Dimes silent auction at Old National
TELL CITY – The Old National Bank March of Dimes team will host a silent auction today through Friday to help raise funds for the March of Dimes. The auction will be in the lobby of the main bank during regular banking hours. The auction will end at 4 p.m. Friday.

Chicken dinners in Leopold Sunday
LEOPOLD – Chicken dinners and fixings will be served at Leopold Park Sunday. Serving will begin at 10 a.m. Proceeds will go toward maintenance at Horton Cemetery at Mount Pleasant.

Parent enrichment program Friday
TELL CITY – Lincoln Hills Development Corp. Early Head Start invites the public to attend a parent enrichment program from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at LHDC Early Head Start, 321 Ninth Street in Tell City.
The August topic is “The Dangers of Second Hand Smoke” with speaker Susan Greenwell, health coordinator of LHDC Early Head Start. Light refreshments will be served.

PC Football Families offer apparel for sale
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Football Families are taking orders for football T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and, new this year, rain jackets. 
Order forms can be pick-ed up from Pam Krygielka at the German American main office or you can call (812) 893-1023.

Final orders will be placed Friday and delivery will take two weeks.

Cookbooks raise funds for Alzheimer’s
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. The price of the books has been reduced to $8 each and all proceeds go to the association.

Christmas Bazaar at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – The annual Christmas Bazaar at Twilight Towers will start at 6 a.m. Sept. 15 in the dining room, 1648 10th St. in Tell City.
There will be holiday items for sale, a quilt raffle, bake sale and a biscuits-and-gravy breakfast. A half order will be $1 and a full order will be $2.
Drinks available will be coffee, milk and orange juice for 50 cents each.

St. Pius fall festival Sept. 9
TROY – St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy will have its annual fall festival Sept. 9.
The menu for the day will include the church’s “famous soup” by the bowl and gallon. Those wishing to purchase soup by the gallon are asked to take their own containers.
Fried-chicken or roast-beef dinners, hamburgers, polish sausage, ice cream and homemade pie will also be served.
Entertainment will include a live band, a large yard sale and flea market, games for adults and children and a raffle.
Serving will begin at 11 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

Trinity UCC ice-cream social Sunday
FULDA – Trinity United Church of Christ near Fulda invites the public to its ice-cream social Sunday. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. with sloppy joes, desserts and home-made ice cream.
A vesper service will begin at 7.

DAR first meeting of the year Sept. 6
CANNELTON – The Daughters of the American Revolution Lafayette Spring Chapter will hold its first meeting for the 2012-13 year at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Patio Steak House. Those who wish to learn more about DAR are invited to attend.
