Perry Central football families to meet
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football families will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 14 at the high-school study-hall room.
JFK Pool announce closing hours
TELL CITY – The JFK Pool in Tell City will change hours beginning Wednesday as it prepares to close for the season.
Beginning Wednesday, the pool will be open from noon to 5 p.m. The final day of the season will be Aug. 12.
Walker Cemetery trustees to meet
BRANCHVILLE – A meeting of the trustees and anyone interested in the up-keep of the Walker Cemetery at Branchville will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 18 in the cemetery shelter house.

Special Olympics car wash Aug. 11
TELL CITY – Special Olympics Perry County will have a car wash at Evans Tire from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11.
The community is invited to stop by and support the local Special Olympic athletes.
PC Football Families T-shirt, etc. sale
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central Football Families are taking orders for football T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and, new this year, rain jackets.
Order forms can be pick-ed up from Pam Krygielka at the German American main office or you can call (812) 893-1023.

The first orders will be placed Friday and delivered Aug. 10. Final orders will be placed Aug. 24. All orders will take two weeks for delivery.

Fundraiser breakfast, bake sale at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will host a fundraiser starting at 6 a.m. Aug. 11 in the dining room.
The event will include a biscuits-and-gravy breakfast and a bake sale.
A full order of biscuits and gravy will be $2 and a half order will be $1. Coffee, milk and orange juice will cost 50 cents each.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Euchre tourney at Sportsman
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney Aug. 11. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m.
Six 20-minute games will be played with cash prizes awarded at the end of play.
Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome to attend.
Cookbooks raise funds for Alzheimer’s
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
The books sell for $10 each and all proceeds go to the association.

VNA Plus plans screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers.
The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 23. For more information, call VNA at 547-7967.
PCMH offers screenings Tuesdays
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City. The screenings are offered free of charge to the public.

DAR first meeting of the year Sept. 6
CANNELTON – The Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Lafayette Spring will hold its first meeting for the 2012-13 year at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Patio Steak House.

Christmas Bazaar at Twilight Towers
TELL CITY – The annual Christmas Bazaar at Twilight Towers will start at 6 a.m. Sept. 15 in the dining room, 1648 10th St. in Tell City.
There will be holiday items for sale, a quilt raffle, bake sale and a biscuits-and-gravy breakfast. A half order will be $1 and a full order will be $2. Drinks available will be coffee, milk and orange juice for 50 cents each.
