Special Needs group to meet
TELL CITY – Tri County Special Needs Support Group will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.

Easter-egg hunt at Orschlen Saturday
TELL CITY – Orschlen’s Farm and Home Supply in Tell City will host an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday.
A donation of $1 per child is requested, with all proceeds going to the Humane Society of Perry County.
Prizes will be awarded. All are welcome to attend.

Euchre at the Sportsman
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a euchre tourney April 14 at the club in Fulda. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with play beginning at 7 p.m. All times are CST. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be provided. The public is invited to attend.

Leopold yard sale in April
LEOPOLD – The fifth annual Leopold Yard Sale will be held April 20, 21 and 22. Watch coming issues of the Perry County News classifieds for specific details.

BRANCHVILLE – Go-cart races will be held at the Branchville Conservation Club April 28 starting at 5 p.m.

Sonshine’s rummage sale April 19, 20, 21
NEW BOSTON – Sonshine Early Learning Ministry will host a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 19, 20 and 21 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, one mile west of New Boston.
The sales will be held rain or shine. Items will include clothing for women, men and children of all ages, toys, furniture, purses, home deco and bedding.
A pair of used shoes will be given out with every purchase and all items will be half price April 21.
Soup, homemade pies, cookies, breads, rolls and kuchen will also be available for purchase.

PC Republican Lincoln Day dinner set for April 30
TELL CITY – The Perry County Republicans will host a Lincoln Day Dinner April 30 at Tell City American Legion. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and dinner will start at 6 p.m.
Greg Zoeller, state attorney general, will be the guest speaker.Dinner will be catered by Bill and Dave’s Smokin’ Pit. Cost is $12 per person.

Cookbooks to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Association
TELL CITY – Anita Sanders, team captain for Kroessman Krusaders Alzheimer’s fundraising team, and co-chair Nadina Paulin are selling cookbooks to raise money for the 2012 Memory Walk benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association.
The books sell for $12.50 each and all proceeds go to the association. Anyone interested in purchasing a book can contact Sanders at 547-6787 or 719-0816.

VNA Plus blood-pressure, blood-sugar screenings
TELL CITY – The Visiting Nurse Association Plus conducts blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings each month at Twilight Towers. The next screening will be from 9 to 10 a.m. April 26. For more information, call VNA at 547-7967.

PCMH to offer screenings Tuesdays in Tell City
TELL CITY – Perry County Memorial Hospital will conduct blood-pressure and blood-sugar screenings every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Wal-Mart in Tell City.

Local woman helping to raise for St. Rita’s School
PERRY COUNTY – Joyce (Goffinet) Greenwood of Tell City is selling tickets to help raise money for the St. Rita School for the Deaf. Her husband, Larney Greenwood, is an alumni of the school.
She has tickets for the 1720 Club, a year-long raffle that draws cash prizes totaling $1,720 or more on the last business day of the month. St. Rita’s is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. For more information about the fundraisers, visit www.srsdeaf.org.
