Mu Gamma Founder’s Day celebration
CANNELTON – Members of Mu Gamma will celebrate their Founder’s Day at 6 p.m. today at the Patio Steak House in Cannelton.
Woman and pledge of the year honors will be announced. Tina Ziegelbruber, Velma Hubert and Mary Linne Saylor will receive the order of the rose for being 15-year members.
Tractor association meeting today
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Association will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Branchville Conservation Club.
The public is invited to attend.
Golden Living Center to honor volunteers
TELL CITY – Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills, 402 19th St., will host a volunteer recognition today.
The program will begin at 2 p.m. with refreshments served afterward. The public is invited to attend.
Rome Lodge yard sale Saturday, Sunday
ROME – Rome Lodge 133 will participate in the Rome Dogwood Festival with a yard sale Saturday and Sunday at the lodge hall.
The group will have many different items. All proceeds will go for building maintenance.
Annual poppy drive Friday, Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 in Tell City will conduct its annual poppy drive Friday and Saturday at Noble’s IGA and Wal-Mart in Tell City.
Poppies will be on sale for most of the day at both locations.
Tri Kappa yard sale Saturday
TELL CITY – Tri Kappa will host a yard sale from 6 a.m. to noon Saturday at Indiana Realty, 331 Main St., in Tell City.
Funds raised from the sale will go to local Tri Kappa projects. The community is encouraged to stop by and support the group.
Breakfast at VFW Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 in Tell City will host a breakfast buffet beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the post home.
All are invited to attend.
Yard sale to benefit Relay for Life
TELL CITY – A large yard sale benefiting Perry County’s Relay for Life is scheduled for today, Friday and Saturday at 1301 12th St. in Tell City. Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Brand-name clothing and lots of miscellaneous items will be sold. The sale will be held rain or shine.

PC Marines to install officers
CANNELTON – The Perry County Marines will hold an officer installation at noon Saturday at 537 N. Seventh Street in Cannelton.

Changes to scheduled hike
PERRY COUNTY – The meeting place for a hike scheduled for Saturday has changed.
Hikers are now asked to meet at the intersection of Indiana 70 and 37 at 9 a.m.
Legion to sell dinners Sunday
TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 in Tell City will sell fried-chicken dinners beginning at noon Sunday at the post home.
Dinners will cost $5 and include two sides. Dine in or carry out will be available.
Civil War display at Tell City museum
TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society museum will host a Civil War display from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday during the Dogwood Tour.
The public is invited to stop by and view the exhibit.
PCMH Auxiliary yard sale Friday, Saturday
TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will have an in-door yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 at Main and Washington streets in Tell City.
There will be numerous miscellaneous items for sale. Auxiliary members should take their items to the VFW from 1 to 4 p.m. April 25 and have all items priced. No clothing will be accepted.
Old National Relay silent auction
TELL CITY – Old National Bank’s Relay For Life Team will host a silent auction until Friday.
The auction items will be at the Tell City Main Street location. Some of the items are Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari tickets, a gas card, Barbie items, dishware, paintings, baskets and more.
Team Bender pork-chop dinners Saturday
SANTA CLAUS – Team Bender of Relay for Life of Spencer County will have pork-chop dinners available beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday at Old Tyme Liquors in Santa Claus.
Meals will include a pork chop, green beans and slaw. Requested donation is $8 per plate. All proceeds go the American Cancer Society.

PC football team to sell dinners
LEOPOLD – The Perry Central football team will sell chicken and pork-chop dinners beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Leopold Park.
Price will be $8 per dinner and will include half a chicken or large pork chop, creek fries, green beans and slaw.
German American Relay fundraisers under way
PERRY COUNTY – German American locations in Tell City are conducting annual sales of petunias and French Ridge candles to raise funds for Perry County Relay for Life.
Petunias are available for $5.50 each or two for $10. Candles are $6 each.

Santa Claus Legion poker games
SANTA CLAUS – Santa Claus American Legion Post 242 will hold Texas Hold-’em poker tourneys the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
Sign in will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Play will begin at 6:15 p.m.
DAR members to gather May 2
CANNELTON – The Lafayette Spring Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a meeting at 6 p.m. May 2 at the Perry County Museum in Cannelton.
Hostesses will be Kim Hawkins and Molly Hall. The program will be given by Marilyn Rhodes, who will speak on the empire of the Summer Moon on the Comanche Plain Indians.

Tell City Band end-of-year party May 3
TROY – The annual Tell City High School band end-of-year party and senior recognition night will be at 5 p.m. May 3 at Mulzer Camp near Troy.
All band students in eighth through 12th grades and their families are invited to attend. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Forms will be sent home with students and an RSVP is requested for a headcount.
Awards voted on by the students will be presented and seniors will be recognized. Eighth-graders and freshmen are asked to take desserts. Sophomores and seniors are asked to take a hot dish and juniors, a cold dish. All families are also asked to take their own drinks.
Craft, car show at Fulda Sportsman
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a craft and car show May 18 at the club.
This will be held in conjunction with the town-wide yard sale. The craft show will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Registration for the car show will be from 7 a.m. to noon with prizes awarded at 2 p.m. A kiddie tractor pull will begin at 10 a.m. Food, including breakfast items and barbecued chicken and pork-chop dinners, will be available throughout the day.
