Golden Living bazaar Friday

TELL CITY – Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills’ resident council is preparing for its annual Christmas bazaar. The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the center.

Crafts, new and slightly used items, candy and baked goods will be available for purchase.

All proceeds will go to the resident council fund.  Residents decide how the money is spent.

The public is invited to attend.
St. Paul bazaar Friday through Sunday

TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church’s Christmas bazaar will be held Friday through Sunday in the parish hall at 824 Jefferson St.
On Dec. 6, there will be a chili supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Guests can dine in the hall or ask for carry-out meals. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

The bazaar will continue from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 as well as before and after the 5:30 Mass that evening.

Sunday hours, Dec. 8, are before and after the 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses.

Republican Christmas open house Sunday

TELL CITY – Perry County Republicans will host a Christmas open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. The event will be at the party’s county headquarters, 1005 Main St. in Tell City.

St. John’s bazaar Saturday

NEW BOSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church, one-half mile west of New Boston, will host its annual Christmas bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7.

Guests can shop for crafts, homemade candy, apple dumplings and baked goods, including homemade springerle cookies.

Other offerings will be quilts, blankets, turnip slaw, turnip kraut and more. The church’s “special soup” will be sold by the gallon and those wanting bulk soup should take their own containers.

Soup, sandwiches and pie will be available throughout the day. The public is welcome.


Democrats’ Christmas party  Saturday

TELL CITY – Perry County Democrats will host their annual Christmas party Dec. 7 at Democrat headquarters. The evening will begin with a 6 p.m. social hour followed by dinner at 7.

The public is invited. Drinks and food will be free.

Reindeer Run Sunday at Depot

TELL CITY – The Tell City After-Prom Committee will host a Reindeer Run 5-kilometer run-walk Dec. 7 starting at 8 a.m. at the Tell City Depot on Seventh Street.

Registration will begin at 7 a.m. Entry fee is $20 if registered before Sunday and $25 after that date. People can register the day of the event. Entry fee includes a T-shirt. For more information, contact Kathy Zabel by sending email to k.zabel10@yahoo.com or calling 719-6140.

Hoosier Heights auction coming Wednesday

TELL CITY – Hoosier Heights Ladies will host an auction at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hoosier Heights Country Club.  It will feature a silent and live auction, a half-pot drawing and a cash raffle. Items include seasonal as well as other gift items.  A buffet dinner of fried chicken and roast beef will start at 5.

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the evening’s activities.

Historical society Christmas party Monday

TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society will host its annual Christmas party Monday at Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1424. A social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7. Cost is $16 per person.

Annual dues of $15 per person may be paid at the dinner or mailed to P.O. Box 728, Tell City, IN 47586.

Texas hold’em tourney Saturday at Legion post

TELL CITY – A no-limit Texas Hold’em tourney will be held Dec. 7 at American Legion Post 213 in Tell City. Sign-in will begin at 3 p.m. with games at 4.

Entry fee is $15 with $20 unlimited rebuys the first hour and an optional add-on at the end of the first hour.

Red Cross training planned

TELL CITY – The American Red Cross will conduct CPR classes this month. A  professional rescuer class will be held at the Tell City Library from 9-4 p.m. Dec. 5.

A lay responder class will be taught at  Bristow United Pentecostal Church Fellowship Building Dec. 9 and 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. both evenings. The church is located at 20843 Indiana 145. To register for classes, call (877) 519-5967 or visit redcross.org. For more information, call 843-4747.

Euchre tourney Saturday at Fulda

FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman’s Club in Fulda will sponsor a euchre tourney Dec. 7 at the club. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the first games getting underway at 7.

Six 20-minute games will be played with cash prizes awarded at the end of the evening. Refreshments will be available and the public is welcome to take part.

Orscheln kids clinic Saturday

TELL CITY – Orscheln Farm and Home Store will host a free kids clinic from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 7. Participants will make a Christmas ornament. On the same day, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the store will offer pictures with Santa.

A $2 donation will be given to Toys for Tots. Pets are also welcome.

Legion serving breakfast to veterans Saturday

TELL CITY – A free breakfast for all veterans is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 7 at the American Legion Post 213 in Tell City.

The breakfast will be served by the American Legion auxiliary to mark the anniversary of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor.

All veterans are encouraged to attend this event.

Legion hosting kids holiday party Dec. 15

TELL CITY – Tell City American Legion Post 213 will host a children’s Christmas party from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 15 for Legion members.

Registrations for the party need to be made by Saturday and should include the name and age of the child. The age limit for children is 12. For more information, contact Charlotte Lindauer at 547-1355.

Women’s guild salad luncheon Thursday

TELL CITY – The Women’s Guild of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City will have its annual Christmas salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 5. The luncheon will be in the fellowship hall at the church, located at 10th and Jefferson streets.

In addition to more than 40 different salads, the lunch will feature chicken casserole, hot rolls and drinks.

Admission is $8 and tickets will be available at the door. Carry-outs will also be available.
