Moose Lodge to sell barbecue dinners Friday
TELL CITY – Tell City Moose Lodge 1424 will sell barbecued-chicken and pork-chop dinners Friday, May 2, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at 12th and Tell streets.

Dinners will include half a chicken or a 1¼-inch thick pork-chop with creek-fried potatoes and green beans. Cost is $8 a plate.

William Tell Center sale Friday
TELL CITY – An indoor garage sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday May 2. Biscuits and gravy and coffee will be available.

Donated items must be clean and priced and can be dropped off at the center Thursday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Band Boosters auctions Saturday
TELL CITY – Tell City Band Boosters will hold their annual silent and live auctions Saturday, May 3, in the high school’s Red Apple Inn.

The doors will open at 9 a.m. and silent-auction bidding will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Relay For Life golf scramble Saturday
PALMYRA – The Relay for Life Team, Karen’s Angels, is “Teed off at Cancer.”

The team’s fourth annual golf scramble will be held Saturday, May 3, at Buffalo Trace Golf Course in Palmyra. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Tuggle golf tourney Saturday
TELL CITY – The annual Charlie Tuggle Memorial Golf Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Hoosier Heights Country Club in Tell City.

The three-person scramble will cost $60 per player or $180 per team and will include one mulligan per player and a chance to win a set of Mizuno irons.

Golfers can sign up by sending payment to P.O. Box 96, Tell City, IN 47586.

TC Chair Co. reunion Sunday
TELL CITY  – Former Tell City Chair Co. employees will have the opportunity for the first time since the company closed to gather and reminisce.

Employees, spouses and children of employees are invited to attend.
The reunion is planned for Sunday, May 4, at the Tell City Depot from 1 to 4  p.m.

A group photo will be taken at 2 p.m. and refreshments will be served.

Monday bingo at American Legion
CANNELTON – In addition to its regular Friday-night bingo, the Legion will host an additional Monday-night bingo May 5, 12 and 19, starting at 6 p.m.

Special-education class Tuesday
TELL CITY – The Indiana Resource Center for Families with Special Needs will offer “Preparing for Your Case Conference” from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6,  at the Perry County Memorial Hospital.

Texas hold’em at Legion May 10
TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 will have a no-limit Texas hold’em tournament Saturday, May 10 with a $100 buy-in and 80 percent payout.

No re-buys or add-ons will be allowed.

Twilight Towers annual yard sale May 10
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will hold its annual yard sale from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, in the dining room at 1648 10th St. in Tell City.

A biscuits and gravy breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. A full order will be $2 and a half order will be $1. Drinks  will be 50 cents each.

A bake sale and a raffle for a country-motif quilt will also be held.

Raffle tickets will be $1 apiece or six for $5. Everyone is welcome.

Library to observe Children’s Book Week with daily story times
TELL CITY – During the week of May 12, the Perry County Public Library will offer special story times in observance of Children’s Book Week.  

Refreshments and free new or gently used books, pencils and other items will be given away.

Fulda craft and car show May 17
FULDA – The Fulda Sportsman Club will host a craft, car and tractor show Saturday, May 17, at the club. This event will be held in conjunction with the town-wide yard sale.

The craft show will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Registration for the car show will be from 7 a.m. to noon. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. No registration is required for the tractor show.  A kiddie tractor pull will begin at 10 a.m.

Food will be available throughout the day, including breakfast items and barbecued-chicken and pork-chop dinners.

Free parenting workshop May 20
TELL CITY – The Perry County Public Library-Tell City will offer a free parenting workshop called “Positive Discipline at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 20.

Stephanie Savage, license dcertified social worker and counselor for 26 years, will offer parents advice on tantrums, setting appropriate limits and behavior issues.

Space is limited. To register, call the library at 547-2661.

Refreshments will be served but childcare will not be provided.

Due to space and program content, the staff asks that children not attend with their parents.

William Tell Center karaoke night May 23
TELL CITY – The William Tell Center will host a karaoke night from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 23 at the center.

Donnie Tindle of Crosswinds will provide the karaoke. Admission will be $5. Refreshments will be offered and all are welcome.

Colors of Hope color run June 7
TELL CITY – Colors of Hope, a 5K run-walk sponsored by New Directions Health and Fitness Club, will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7.

The race will begin and end at New Directions. Registration fees are $20 and forms are available at the club or online at www.new directionsfitness.com.

Make checks payable to the club and mail or drop off forms at New Directions Health and Fitness Club, 632 Main St., Tell City, IN 47586.
To guarantee a race T-shirt, register by May 30.

All others are asked to wear anything and everything white.

Race proceeds will benefit Perry County Relay for Life.

Girl Scouts to be honored
TELL CITY – The Perry County Girl Scouts will hold a ceremony to honor leaders and Girl Scouts with awards they have earned this year.

Katie Fuchs has earned a Gold Award, the highest award a girl can earn.

The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in the fellowship hall.

All Girl Scouts, their families and community members are welcome to attend.
