William Tell Center supper, dance Friday
TELL CITY – The William Tell Center at 1301 11th St. in Tell City will host a chili supper and dance Friday, April 25, at the center.

Admission will be $5 at the door. Chili, hot dogs and shakes will be available during the dance. Donations will be accepted.

Tractor Club to meet Thursday
BRANCHVILLE – The Ohio Valley Tractor Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Branchville Conservation Club.

VFW  Buddy Poppy sales Friday, Saturday
TELL CITY – Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 and its ladies auxiliary will sell buddy poppies from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26 at Wal-Mart, Cash Saver and Noble’s IGA.

The members of the VFW and its ladies auxiliary raise more than $15 million from the sale of buddy poppies each year of the event.

Leopold  yard sales Friday, Saturday
LEOPOLD – The annual Leopold yard sale will be held Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26. There will be several  sales held at individual homes.

VFW Breakfast Saturday
TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 will host a buffet breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the post home.
The price is $6.50 plus tax and all are invited to attend.

Charlie Tuggle Ride Saturday

TELL CITY – Braunie’s Bar will host its seventh annual Charlie Tuggle Ride Saturday, April 26.

All bikes will be out at 11 a.m. and in by 4:30 p.m.

Fee is $15 for a single rider and $25 for double riders. All vehicles are welcome.

There will be door prizes and food. All proceeds will benefit Shriners Childrens Hospital and Schreiber Family Charities.

Fire House pancake breakfast Saturday
GRANDVIEW – The Grandview Fire House will serve a pancake breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at the firehouse.
Cost is $6 per person for a breakfast of pancakes, eggs, sausage, milk, juice and coffee.

“Famous Soup” sale Saturday
TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will host a “famous soup” sale beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26. Soup will be served until sold out.

The public is invited and guests are asked to take their own gallon containers.

Library book sale Saturday
CANNELTON – Friends of the Perry County Library will hold a spring book sale at the Cannelton branch beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 26.

The sale will feature hardback and paperback books for adults and children, as well as videos, DVDs and books on tape and CD.

Prices will be $1 for hardbacks, videos, DVDs and books on tape and CD and 50 cents for paperbacks. Tote bags will also be available for $3.

From 3 to 5 p.m., books will be sold by the bag for $2.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to benefit the library and its services.

Ghost-hunt Saturday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will have a novice hunt for individuals interested in paranormal activity who are not part of an organized team. They will provide equipment. The hunt will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Only 10 advance tickets will be available at $20 per person. For details, send email to tcgh 2012@aol.com.

Historical Society trivia Monday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society invites everyone to join them for Tell City trivia during their meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, April 27. Resident Bill Simpson plans to challenge attendees with questions about things they weren’t aware they needed to know about Tell City.

Monday bingo at American Legion
CANNELTON – In addition to its regular Friday-night bingo, the Legion will host an additional Monday-night bingo May 5, 12 and 19, starting at 6 p.m.

Relay For Life golf scramble May 3
PALMYRA – The Relay for Life Team, Karen’s Angels, is “Teed off at Cancer.”

The team’s fourth annual golf scramble will be held Saturday, May 3, at Buffalo Trace Golf Course in Palmyra. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Registration deadline is April 25 and fee is $50. For more information, call or text (812) 489-1496. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

TC Chair Co. reunion May 4

TELL CITY  – Former Tell City Chair Co. employees will have the opportunity for the first time since the company closed to gather and reminisce. Employees, spouses and children of employees are invited to attend.

The reunion is planned for Sunday, May 4, at the Tell City Depot from 1 to 4  p.m. A group photo will be taken at 2 p.m. and refreshments will be served.

Texas hold’em at Legion May 10
TELL CITY – American Legion Post 213 will have a no-limit Texas hold’em tournament Saturday, May 10 with a $100 buy-in and 80 percent payout.

No re-buys or add-ons will be allowed.

Twilight Towers annual yard sale May 10
TELL CITY – Twilight Towers will hold its annual yard sale from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 10, in the dining room at 1648 10th St. in Tell City.

A biscuits and gravy breakfast will begin at 7 a.m. A full order will be $2 and a half order will be $1. Drinks  will be 50 cents each.

A bake sale and a raffle for a country-motif quilt will also be held. Raffle tickets will be $1 apiece or six for $5. Everyone is welcome.

William Tell Center hosting line dancing
TELL CITY – The William Tell Center, located at 1301 11th St. in Tell City,  will host weekly line dancing Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $5 and all are welcome. There will be no line dancing May 1 as the center prepares for its yard sale.

Perry County Republicans dinner Saturday
TELL CITY – The Perry County Republicans will host a Lincoln Day dinner Saturday at the 4-H building in Tell City.

U.S. Rep. Larry Bucshon and state Rep. Lloyd Arnold will speak. The event will be catered by Bill & Dave’s Smokin’ Pit. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Cost will be $15 per person and children under 12 will eat for free. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.

William Tell Center plans karaoke night
TELL CITY – The William Tell Center will host a karaoke night from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 23 at the center. Donnie Tindle of Crosswinds will provide the karaoke. Admission will be $5. Refreshments will be available and everyone is welcome.
