Commodores win two more matches

EVANSVILLE—Sydney Goffinet made 18 kills and served six aces as Perry Central beat Evansville Memorial 25-20, 25-22, 25-17 in volleyball Monday.
Hannah Harpenau added nine kills, Jordan Sprinkle eight, Maddie Hubert and Grace James five apiece, and Brittany Parker four.
“We passed pretty well and were able to set up Jordan and Maddie (more than usual) and that worked well for us,” said Perry Central Coach Becky Genet. “And Sydney Goffinet and Hannah Harpenau hit well again.”
James had 37 assists.
Parker served three aces to back Goffinet for the 25-4 Commodores.
Hubert made 17 digs. Harpenau, James and Parker each added 15.
Four Commodores each made one block.
Perry Central also beat North Posey 25-17, 25-14, 25-21 Saturday as Goffinet made 15 kills. Harpenau added 11 kills, Sprinkle nine, and James five.
James had 32 assists and Sprinkle made three blocks.
Parker made 14 digs and Harpenau, James and Hannah Edwards each added eight.
Hubert went 16 for 16 serving with four aces.
Memorial beat Perry Central 25-6, 25-3 in Monday’s JV match.
Ryann Lynch made three kills and Brooke Mullis had four assists for Perry Central.
Perry Central will host West Washington tonight at 5:30.
