Commodores sink Wood Memorial

LEOPOLD—Perry Central improved its free-throw shooting in the second half and beat Wood Memorial 40-36 in freshman basketball Thursday.

The Commodores hit only 1 of 8 free throws in the first half but made 8 of 12 in the second half.

Their point total was 10 points higher than their previous high.

“We played well enough to win,” said Perry Central Coach Kevin Rogier.

He said about half the Commodores’ field goals came inside and half came from the perimeter.

Trent Brown led Perry Central scorers with 15 points.

Isaiah Ernst added 12 and Cody Winkler scored eight.

The Commodores improved to 2-9. They will host Heritage Hills tonight at 6.
