Commodores outserve Eagles

LEOPOLD—Maddie Hubert served nine aces as Perry Central defeated Lanesville 25-9, 25-12, 25-10 in volleyball Monday.
Hubert went 30 for 30 serving overall.
Brittany Parker added four aces for the Commodores, who made 96 percent good serves.
Sydney Goffinet led Perry Central hitters with 11 kills. Hannah Harpenau and Parker each added six and Jordan Sprinkle made five.
Grace James had 29 assists, nine digs and two blocks. Sprinkle made four blocks.
Harpenau made 12 digs, Parker eight, and Hubert seven.
Perry Central, ranked No. 5 in the state in Class 2A this week, improved to 19-3.
Perry Central won the JV match 25-22, 23-25, 15-5 as Ryann Lynch led a balanced hitting attack with four kills.
Jessica Coultas, Amber Neyenhaus, Fabiana Peaquin and Zosha Roberson each added three kills. Payton Emmons had eight assists and Lynch added three.
Roberson served five aces, Lynch four, and Brooke Mullis three.
Neyenhaus made six digs and Lynch and Mullis each added five.
Perry Central has a 5-11 record in JV and C-team matches.
The Commodores will visit Heritage Hills tonight at 6.
