LEOPOLD—Perry Central committed five errors in an 11-2 girls softball loss to South Central Saturday.

“We played terrible,” said Perry Central Coach Greg Gibson. “Most of them were just throwing errors.”

South Central had only six hits and scored only four earned runs against Perry Central pitchers Kristi Brumfield and Cassie Wilgus.

Brumfield pitched the first five innings, walking five and striking out six.

“Our pitching was pretty good,” said Gibson.

Perry Central had four hits, by four different batters, but scored both its runs in the second inning without a hit on two errors and passed balls.

Perry Central lost 8-0 at Forest Park Monday. The Commodores improved their defense, committing only one error, but they had only one hit, a single by Brumfield.

Brumfield and Wilgus combined to give up only four hits but they walked nine.

Perry Central, 0-7, will host Southridge today at 5 p.m.
