LINCOLN CITY - Perry Central hit 52.8 percent from the field to beat Heritage Hills 70-53 for third place in the eight-team PSC Classic boys basketball tourney Saturday.
"We made some extra passes on offense and turned down some good shots to get great shots," said Perry Central Coach Matt Carter.
He also noted that the Commodores made several backdoor layups because the Patriots "were really out in the passing lanes."
The score was tied 8-8 with 2:50 left in the first quarter. But Perry Central went on a 9-2 run in the next two minutes to take the lead for good.
