TELL CITY – Perry County’s commissioners approved in a special meeting Monday county-council districts redrawn to make their populations as equal as possible.
As the News reported in two stories Dec. 12, counties are required by law to examine the numbers of constituents in each county-council district following census counts every decade. The numbers must align as closely as possible, county attorney Chris Goffinet explained at a Nov. 26 council meeting, but Perry County’s District 4 has approximately twice as many residents as District 2.
