Tractor club to meet today

Live music at Twilight Towers Friday
TELL CITY - Leo Gronquist and his band will provide entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, June 20, in the Twilight Towers dining room in Tell City. The public is invited to attend.

Troy School homecoming Saturday

TROY - A Troy School homecoming has been scheduled for Saturday, June 21, in the St. Pius Parish Hall, which is the former St. Pius Grade School in Troy. The event will begin with registration at 1 p.m. The program will begin at 2. There will be a table for those attending to display memorabilia from their school days. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome, especially anyone who graduated from St. Pius Grade School, Troy Grade School or Troy High School. River Sweep clean up Saturday
TELL CITY - River Sweep 2014 is scheduled for Saturday along the shoreline of the Ohio River and its many tributaries. Volunteers are needed for this massive event. Trash bags are provided and each volunteer will receive a free T-shirt.

Glow run for Cronin Saturday
TELL CITY - A 2-mile glow run-walk is set for Saturday, June 21 for Elizabeth Cronin, 11, who was diagnosed in late March with germ-cell cancer. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Sunset Park with the race expected to start at 8 p.m. Entry forms can be picked up at New Directions, Everbody's, Farm Bureau Insurance, Hollinden Realty, and Southern Indiana Power.

Entry forms should be mailed to 10221 Squirrel Road, Tell City, IN 47586. Registration is $10 per child and $20 per adult and will be available the day of the event.

GOPerry breakfast Saturday
TELL CITY - The GOPerry Club will sponsor a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at Ponderosa. United Way of Perry County will be the guest organization  presenting. For more information, call Gayle Strassell at 547-2262.

Sons of Legion to sell pork-chop dinners Saturday
 TELL CITY - Tell City Sons of the American Legion Squadron 213 will sell pork-chop dinners beginning at noon Saturday, June 21 at the post home.

Dinners will include 1-inch-thick pork chops, creek fries, baked beans and slaw. Cost for a meal will be $8.50 and dinners will be available for dine-in and carryout.

Texas hold'em at Legion Saturday
TELL CITY - The American Legion in Tell City will host a no-limit Texas hold 'em tournament Saturday, June 21. Sign in will be at 5:30 p.m. with games beginning at 6 p.m. Buy-in will be $60 plus a $15 entry fee.

AA dinner meeting Saturday
 TELL CITY - A Perry County Alcoholics Anonymous dinner meeting has been scheduled for Saturday, June 21, at the United Methodist Church at 10th and Mozart streets in Tell City.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6 p.m. A speaker will address the attendees at 7 p.m. All participants are asked to take a friend and a covered dish or a dessert.

Substance-abuse committee to meet June 25
LEOPOLD - The Perry County Substance Abuse Committee will host a grant presentation at noon Wednesday, June 25, at Perry Central High School in the conference room.

Adventures with Nature June 28
TIPSAW - The 11th annual Adventures with Nature field day will be held at the Tipsaw Lake Recreation Area Saturday, June 28. Activities will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Children will have the opportunity to learn about bees, butterflies, bats and birds, make suet birdfeeders and kites, dissect owl pellets to see what owls eat, make soap carvings and attend a raptor program presented by a naturalist from Hardy Lake at noon.

Branchville Fun Day June 28
BRANCHVILLE - Branchville Fun Day will be held Saturday, June 28, at the Branchville Clubhouse.

The Branchville Conservation Club and Ohio Valley Tractor Club will sell pulled-pork dinners, hamburgers and hotdogs beginning at noon.
A cornhole contest will be held at 5 p.m. for $5 per person, with sign-up open until 4:30 p.m. and volleyball at 1 p.m. for $5 per person or $30 per team and sign-up until 12:30 p.m.

The Perry Central Future Farmers of America will hold a yard sale in the clubhouse. The public is also invited to set up yard sales and keep their earnings. Organizers ask sellers to take their own tables.
A kiddie tractor-pull, antique tractor show and free games will be held during the day. For more information, call 843-4591, 843-5716 or 843-5746.

Farmers market now open
TELL CITY - The Perry County farmers market has kicked off its season. Hours are 8 a.m. until sellout Saturdays and 4 p.m. until sellout Wednesdays. Markets will continue through fall. Anyone wanting to learn more can call 547-7933.
