It was in central Nebraska in the year 1900. There hadn’t been a decent rain since May and it was nearly August. The crops were withering and it was looking like a bust year for the farmers in the county. As folks walked about in their daily routines they looked at the skies in hope of a cloud or two, but there was none to be seen.
