Forrest Gump’s mother compared life to a box of chocolates. “You never know what you’re gonna get,” she concluded, likely from experience.

After a recent church picnic, I have a different analogy. Life is a lot like a game of bingo. You never know when the number you’re looking for  – or not looking for  – is going to be called.
