A husband and wife from Tell City were transported to Perry County Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon after their car and a commercial truck hauling cylinders of compressed air collided on the Anderson River bridge west of Troy.
According to Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Daymion Marsh, the driver, Thomas Aldridge, 74, likely fell asleep and crossed the centerline before colliding with the truck, owned by Modern Supply of Owensboro, Ky.
Fire-department members on the scene worked to prevent fuel leaking out of vehicles from reaching the river. Indiana 66 was closed about an hour for the cleanup.
