CANNELTON – Cannelton City Schools has been able to trim a shortfall in its general fund by more than $200,000 in the past year and could be in the black by the end of 2014.
That was the financially positive message presented Thursday by Schools Superintendent Alva Sibbitt during the board of school trustees’ monthly meeting.
Sibbitt said the deficit had fallen below $200,000 for the first time in several years as he and the school board work to control costs and become more efficient.
