City leaders eye fast-track plan for combined sewers

5-year implementation could save more than $600,000

TELL CITY - Reducing by half the number of years Tell City will take to eliminate its combined-sewer overflows could save the community more than half a million dollars and lessen the impact on monthly sewage bills, members of the city council learned last week.

However, city residents will eventually pay several dollars more each month because of federal and state mandates to eliminate sewer discharges into public waterways.
