St. Paul’s beer, brats, burgers and band event
TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will sponsor an outdoor party from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday in the church parking lot.
The local band Above the Law will perform. The event is open to the public. There is no admission but donations will be accepted to help pay expenses. Beer, soft drinks, water, hamburgers, cheeseburgers,
Brats and chips will be available for purchase. Attendees must be 21 to enter.

Feast of Four program Saturday

FERDINAND – The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand are offering a program, “A Feast of Four: Being Fed by Women Doctors of the Church,” that will explore the lives and teachings of four women recognized as outstanding teachers in the Church.
The program will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT Saturday, at Kordes Center in Ferdinand. It will be presented by Sisters Mary Ann Verkamp (on St. Hildegard of Bingen), Kathryn Huber (on St. Catherine of Siena), Traci Stutz (on St. Teresa of Avila) and Jenny Miller (on St. Theresa of Lisieux).
The day of reflection will include study of the messages for us for today from the women Doctors of the Church.

Gospel sing at Little Pigeon Oct. 19

LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, located two-tenths of a mile east of U.S. 231 on County Road 1250 N., will host a gospel sing Oct. 19.
Eating will begin at 6 p.m. and singing is set to start at 7.
Guest singers will be Rejoicing Souls. All are welcome to attend.

Deer Creek Fall Fest set for Oct. 20

TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church in Tell City will host a fall festival beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 20.
There will be fun, food and fellowship for all.
Church members still gather for Talk, Pray, Walk sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday. All are invited to attend.
Items being collected in October for Operation Christmas Child Shoebox are clear plastic shoe boxes, bandanas, Christmas wrapping paper and small toys.

Monte Cassino pilgrimages continue

SAINT MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s pilgrimages to honor the Blessed Mother at the Monte Cassino Shrine have been scheduled for the Sundays in October.
The pilgrimages begin with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The service ends with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn. Speakers and topics for the pilgrimages are:
• Sunday – The Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB, “And Mary Waited Outside”
• Oct. 20 – The Rev. Jeremy King OSB, “Believer in the Promise”
• Oct.  27 – Archabbot Justin DuVall OSB, “Mary, Mother of the Light”
Services begin at 2 p.m. The public is invited.
The Monte Cassino Shrine is located one mile east of the Archabbey on Indiana 62 in St. Meinrad.
Because Indiana 62 is closed for repairs, visitors traveling from the east on Interstate 64 should take Exit 63, drive south on Indiana 162 and then drive east on Indiana 62 into St. Meinrad. The road is open to Monte Cassino Shrine.

Shooting match at St. Isidore Oct. 20

BRISTOW – The annual St. Isidore Catholic Church shooting match will be held Oct. 20 at the church grounds in Bristow.
The ham and turkey shoot will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closed match will be beef and pork with a first choice of half a beef. Entrance to the closed match is at 2:30 p.m.
Lunch will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. and include homemade chili, hamburgers, homemade pie, coffee, soft drinks and bottled water.
There will also be a country store, a cake stand, splatter boards, pull tabs, children’s games, bingo and more.
A raffle with more than $5,000 in prizes will be held.

St. Martin ham shoot Nov. 3

SIBERIA – St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia will host a ham shoot Nov. 3 on the church grounds beginning at 10 a.m.
Chili, cakes, a country store, pies, bingo and raffle will be available.
