Gospel Tabernacle to welcome James McMikin
CANNELTON – Cannelton Gospel Tabernancle Church in Cannelton will have revival services with Evangelist James McMikin of Jasper at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday.
McMikin will share his ministry in song as well as the Bible. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend.

Singing guests at Troy church
TROY – Truth Betold’s Brother “Oliver” Gene Jones will be the special guest singer today at Our Father’s House of Worship, 630 Walnut Street in Troy. Service starts at 5 p.m. and will last until 7 p.m.
The church will also welcome Brother Paul Pinnick from Jamestown, Tenn., and the House of Prayer Ministry to sing and give a message Sunday. Service begins at 9 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. A fellowship dinner will follow at 11 a.m. Everyone attending is asked to take their favorite dish for the Thanksgiving themed dinner.
Finally, the church will welcome back Cheri Taylor for a special singing from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15.

Upcoming events at Deer Creek Baptist
TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church will begin Beth Moore’s 10-week Bible study lead by Cheri Taylor Sunday. Anyone who wishes to participate is invited to contact Taylor.
Also Sunday, church members are asked to take some change for “Change for Change,” with proceeds to be donated to Backpack Ministry services in Perry County. At 6 p.m., there will a shoebox packing event for Operation Christmas Child. Dedication Day for Operation Christmas Child will be at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11.
The church’s Thanksgiving service and meal will be at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 18, with special music provided by Revival Music. All are invited.

Fish fry at St. Paul
TELL CITY – A fish fry will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church Parish Hall on the corner of Main and Jefferson Streets from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9.  The menu will include fish, macaroni n’ cheese, chips, dessert and drinks.
The proceeds will go to a Youth Mission Trip to Kenosha, Wis., in June 2013. The cost is $7 for adults, and $5 for children.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend.  For more information, call 547-7994.

Troy First Christian fall fest Sunday
TROY – The Troy First Christian Church, on the corner of Market and Spring streets, will host a fall festival from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Games, food and more will be offered to anyone of all ages. The community is encouraged to attend this free event.

Ham shoot at St. Martin Sunday
SIBERIA – St. Martin Parish in Siberia will hold a ham shoot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Activities include the shoot, bingo, a raffle and a country store.  Chili, sandwiches, pies and cakes will be served.

St. John Chrysostom fall social
NEW BOSTON – St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in New Boston invites everyone to its annual fall social Nov. 11 at in the parish hall.
Chili, burgers and homemade desserts will be served. Food will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the event will also include a country store, quilt raffle and silent auction. A bingo party will be held at 12:30 p.m. and a euchre tournament will start at 5 p.m.

St. Paul’s to offer Catholic classes
TELL CITY – Classes for those seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith are planned and scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays  through April.
Classes are sponsored by St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City but are open to anyone in the community. The program will begin with inquiry sessions to answer questions in an effort to see if the Catholic faith is right for those interested.  
An invitation to attend the classes is also extended to anyone who has drifted away or who has been hurt by the church.

United Pentecostal taking candy orders
BRISTOW – The Bristow United Pentecostal Church is taking orders for candy for Thanksgiving.
Plain fudge, fudge with walnuts, peanut butter fudge, mixed fudge and peanut butter balls are $3.50 per half pound. Peanut brittle is $2.50 per patty. 
To place an order, call 843-4747. All orders need to be submitted by Nov. 15. Candy will be delivered Nov. 19.
