Little Pigeon to hold gospel sing Saturday
LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, located two-tenths of a mile east of U.S. 231 on County Road 1250 N., will host a gospel sing Saturday at the church.
Guest singers will be the Jeremy Farmer family and Dion White. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. and singing will start at 7. All are welcome to attend. For more information, call (812) 529-8514.
Lent series for adults at local Catholic center
TELL CITY – As those of the Catholic faith celebrate 50 years of Vatican, the Catholic Ministry Center in Tell City will welcome the Rev. Jeremy King, OSB, a Benedictine monk of St. Meinrad, for a Lent series for adults.
The talks will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on four consecutive Thursdays beginning today at the ministry center.
Today, the topic of King’s presentation will be focused on the constitution on the constitution on Divine Revelation, where he will focus on the question “Revelation comes through scripture, tradition and teachings of the church. How do those three elements work together?”
The public is invited and encouraged to attend each meeting of this series.
Folk Mountain gospel concert Saturday
TELL CITY – The Tell City Seventh-day Adventist Church, 13th and Humboldt streets, will host a musical program by the Folk Mountain Gospel at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The music is a blend of “mountain” style and folk style gospel. The group plays traditional and Biblical instruments such as the bowed psaltery, hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, mandolin, zither, guitar and harmonica. Members of the group are Don and Donna Mohl.
The community is invited to attend.
Easter worship at EUCC
TELL CITY – Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City has announced its worship times for Easter.
Worship on Good Friday March 29 will begin at 7 p.m. A contemporary service on Easter March 31 will begin at 7 a.m. and include a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. The church’s traditional service will be at 10 a.m.
The public is invited to attend all services.
Upcoming activities at Deer Creek
TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church in Tell City will host the monthly mission meeting and breakfast at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. All women are welcome to attend. On Sunday, the church will host a “Change for Change” event. During the worship session, change will be collected and donated to missions.
The church’s choir is preparing for its Easter performance. All are invited to join the group for practice at 6 p.m. every Wednesday.
The church will host a showing of “The Passion of Christ,” a film detailing the final hours and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, at 6 p.m. March 24.
Sunrise services will begin at 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, March 31. Services at 10:30 a.m. will include an Easter cantata by the choir.
The quilting ladies will soon be ready for new quilts. Anyone who would like to have a quilt made is asked to contact the church.
All money made from the quilts is donated to missions.
Lent, Easter worship at Emmanuel Lutheran
TELL CITY – Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tell City has announced dates and times for worship during the lent season.
The schedule is as follows:
March 13 at 6:30 p.m.
March 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Maudy Thursday service, March 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Good Friday service, March 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Easter sunrise service, March 31 at 7 a.m.
Easter service, March 31 at 10 a.m.
Everyone is invited to attend these services.
Public invited to share music at local church
TROY – Our Father’s House of Worship, 630 Walnut St., in Troy, is inviting those who play instruments, sing or write music to share their talent every Thursday at the church.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with service beginning at 6 p.m.

TELL CITY – Classes for those seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith are scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through April. Classes are sponsored by St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City but are open to anyone in the community.
