Rose to speech at Gospel Tabernacle
SPENCER COUNTY – Missionary Jimmy Rose will speak at Light of the World Baptist Church in Midway at 7 p.m. today through Saturday.
At 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Pastor Hagan of Light of the World Baptist Church will speak. All are invited to attend.

Special worship planned at Community Christian Church
TELL CITY – Mary Kutter, a senior at Cambellsville University majoring in vocal music performance, will share in the Sunday (July 14) worship service at Community Christian Church, 821 10th St., in Tell City, at 10 a.m. Kutter sings regularly on radio and in various programs throughout central Kentucky and southern Indiana.
Kutter is the children’s worship leader at Southland Christian Church, a mega church located Lexington, Ky. She also plays keyboard, guitar, flute and the fiddle. “She is a girl who not only strives after her dream of music, but she has also made it her mission in life to make her world a better place,” staff of the church said.
She uses her gifts to help others by singing in various benefit concerts, such as Relay for Life, American Red Cross, Courageous Kids Camp and more.
“I think God has given all of us special gifts and talents to help others and to glorify him,” Kutter said. “I believe we are called to give back in some way.”
Visitors are welcome to attend this special worship. There is no cost to attend.
Church picnic at St. Peter’s UCC
LAMAR – St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Lamar will host its annual church picnic from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
There will be fried chicken, baked ham, homemade dumplings and home-baked desserts. There will be homemade ice cream and a country store. Live entertainment will also be provided. All are invited to attend.
Annual summer picnic at St. John’s UCC
LAMAR – St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold its annual summer picnic at 4:30 p.m. July 20 at the church.
Chicken and ham dinners will be served along with St. John’s “famous” dressing, au gratin potatoes, fresh vegetables, a salad buffet and a dessert bar.
Carry out and dine in will be available. Children 6 years and younger will eat for free.
Homecoming at Little Pigeon
LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, located two-tenths of a mile east of U.S. 231 on County Road 1250 N., will host its homecoming July 21 at the church.
Dinner will be at noon with singing to follow. Special guests will be the Jeremy Farmer Family and Dion White.
All are welcome to attend.
Missionary visit, dinner at Bristow Christian
BRISTOW – Bristow Christian Church will hold a missionary visit and dinner at 10 a.m. July 21. No Sunday School will be held that day.
A carry-in dinner will follow the visit.
Autumn Neighbors, who spent the last year in Honduras, will present a program.
Church-wide bake, yard sales
TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church, 10th and Mozart streets in Tell City, will host a church-wide yard and bake sale.
The sale will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 7 to 11 a.m. Friday. There will be men’s, women’s and children’s clothing; tools; jewelry; computer items; books; movies; shoes; purses; what-knots; home-grown produce; dishes; puzzles; toys; baby items and flowers.
The community is invited to attend.
Immaculate Conception Church to host barbecue picnic
HAWESVILLE, Ky. – Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 115 Main St., Hawesville, will host its annual barbecue picnic July 13.
Pork, mutton, chicken and burgoo will be available for carry out beginning at noon. Serving for the picnic will begin at 3:30 p.m. Barbecue will be available as sandwiches or dinners.
An air-conditioned hall will be available for patrons to dine in.
The event will include fun booths and games for everyone. A flea market will open at 7 a.m.
A raffle with 29 prizes worth more than $1,600 will also be held. The first prize will be $500.
Everyone is invited to attend.
Bethel Baptist VBS ends Friday
TELL CITY – Bethel Baptist Church in Tell City will continue its “The Battle For Truth” vacation Bible school today and Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. nightly.
Emphasis will be a week of teaching youngsters to “put on the full armor of God so they can stand strong in the battle of truth.” Volunteers to help with classes are also welcome.

Schmitz to be honored by Sisters Sunday
FERDINAND – The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand will hold a public reception honoring new prioress Sister Barbara Lynn Schmitz from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT Sunday in the dining room at Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand.
The celebration will also be in gratitude for Sister Kristine Anne Harpenau’s 10 years of service as prioress. The public is invited to attend.
Bethel Christian’s vacation Bible school
DOOLITTLE MILLS – Bethel Christian Church will host a vacation Bible school from 6 to 8 p.m. July 15 through July 19.
The program is for all ages, including teens. Everyone is invited.
St. John Chrysostom picnic July 21
NEW BOSTON – St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in New Boston will host their annual summer picnic July 21 at the church.
Meals will include fried-chicken and roast-beef dinners, which will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the air-conditioned Father Heck Hall.
“Famous” New Boston soup by the bowl or gallon will also be available. There will also be an outside food stand.
Activities will include bingo at 11 a.m., kids games throughout the day, country store, silent and pick-a-prize auctions and a big raffle drawing at 4 p.m.
Live music will be provided by the Paradise Band.
Vacation Bible school at EUCC
TELL CITY – Evangelical United Church of Christ will host a vacation Bible school program July 22 through July 26.

Homecoming at Deer Creek
TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church will host homecoming services at 10:30 a.m. July 28 at the church.
The worship service will include special music from the group LambSong. A fellowship meal will follow the service.
Victory Valley Church camp July 21-26
CANNELTON – The Cannelton Gospel Tabernacle Church would like to invite the community to its 41st Victory Valley Church Camp.
Camp dates are from July 21 to July 26 and nighttime services will be Sunday through Thursday starting at 7 p.m. Sunday night will include a special praise and worship service featuring Dave and Betty Greenwell from Anderson.

Leopold church annual picnic set for July 28
LEOPOLD – St. Augustine Catholic Church will have its annual picnic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 28. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
There will be parking for the handicapped. There will be quilts, a quilt raffle, silent auction, country store, bingo, ice cream, games for young and old, baked goods and a grand raffle of 75 prizes totaling $3,500.
Family-style chicken dinners will be served by the ticket number system in the air-conditioned dining room. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Carryouts will be available.
To reach the church from Tell City, take Indiana 37 north approximately 13 miles and watch for signs.
VBS at St. Meinrad Catholic Church July 28
ST. MEINRAD – St. Meinrad Catholic Church will host its vacation Bible school, Assorted Saints Hot Air Ballon, beginning July 28.
Children will gather from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 28 and from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 29 through July 31. Those attending will discover the key to heaven during this Catholic kids camp, organizers said.
Cost is $15 per child until July 21. The fee for children who are signed up July 28 is $20. This fee includes T-shirt and Assorted Saints music CD.

St. Boniface picnic Aug. 4
FULDA – St. Boniface Catholic Church will host its annual picnic Aug. 4 on the church grounds.
Chicken and beef dinners will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the air-conditioned dinning hall.
Sandwiches, bingo, family games, ice cream and quilts will be available during the day. A country kitchen and grand raffle will also be set up.
