Chestnut Grove to host Jack Compton
TELL CITY – Chestnut Grove Church in Tell City will host Evangelist Jack Compton (Gifts of the Spirit) of Riley, Miss.
The community is invited to attend any of the four dates Compton will speak, Dec. 9, 10 and 11 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.

United Pentecostal to present play Dec. 19
BRISTOW – The United Pentecostal Church will present their Christmas play to the public at 6 p.m. Dec. 19.
The performance will be held at the church, located at 20843 State Road 145 in Bristow. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration of Christmas.

Special choir broadcast Sunday
TELL CITY – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will present a broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
The annual Christmas devotional can be seen at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 at the Tell City church, located on Dauby Lane.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has performed before U.S. presidents, sold millions of records, won scores of awards and entertained audiences in dozens of countries. The choir is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Candy sale underway
BRISTOW – Bristow United Pentecostal Church is now taking orders for their annual candy sale.
Orders can be placed for plain fudge, peanut butter fudge, fudge with walnuts, peanut butter balls and peanut brittle or a mixture of the three types of fudge. Fudge and peanut butter balls sell for $7 a pound with half pounds available upon request. Peanut brittle is $2.50 per patty.
Orders will be delivered Dec. 20. Call 843-5240 to place an order.

Little Pigeon Christmas concert Saturday
LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, west of Lamar on County Road 1200 N., will host a Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4.
Special guest will be the Woodsmen Quartet. Finger foods will be served. All are welcomed to attend.

Sisters to host come-and-see event
FERDINAND – The Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand will hold a come and see event Jan. 7-9 for single, Catholic woman between the ages of 18 and 40.
Get to know our Benedictine sisters, share in the community life and prayer and meet other women who are considering religious life. There is no pressure or commitment.
