Eckerty Camp starts today, ends Aug. 12
ECKERTY – The 104th annual Eckerty Camp begins at 7 p.m. EST today and will continue throughout Aug. 12. Services are at 7 p.m. each night and at 6 p.m. EST each Sunday.
Christians of every faith are urged to attend this interdenominational campaign. The evangelist and singers for this year’s event are the Rev. and Mrs. M.R. McCrary. The missionaries of Evangelistic Faith Missions are Zack and Sarah Roberts.
Dinner will be served each Sunday in the dinning room. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call the camp at (812) 338-3787.

St. Boniface summer picnic set for Sunday
FULDA – St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda will host its annual summer picnic Sunday.
Roast beef or fried chicken dinners with all the trimmings will be served from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Carry-outs will be available. Fulda’s “famous” soup will be sold by the bowl or bulk, as well as hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fried chicken and tenderloin sandwiches, ice cream and drinks.
Handmade quilts will be raffled throughout the day. Burgers and tenderloin sandwiches, ice cream, drinks, country kitchen, pick-a-prize raffle, bingo, games and music throughout the day will be available.
A 4:15 p.m. drawing for two special quilts picked from the church’s quilt show July 22 and a grand raffle drawing at 4:30 p.m. are also features of the day. 
A kid’s fun center will include a bounce house, corn hole, coloring contest and more. Other festivities will include a soda toss, bingo and a themed basket raffle.
A country kitchen with homemade goods including breads, rolls, muffins, coffee cakes, noodles, snacks, salsas, jellies, jams, relishes and more will be set up.
New this year to the picnic will be guided tours of historic St. Boniface Catholic Church, a member of the National Registry of Historic Churches.
Angelus Bells will ring to announce the beginning of the tours at noon and 2 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

Back to school bash sponsored by county Methodist churches
TELL CITY – The Perry County United Methodist churches will host a back to school bash from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Tell City United Methodist Church.
Free hot dogs, drinks and games will be available in the church parking lot on 10th and Mozart streets. The first 150 students will be given a zipper bag donated by Fifth Third, German American and Old National banks, along with school supplies donated by the churches’ congregations and Farm Bureau.
