St. Boniface church picnic set for Aug. 3
FULDA – The annual St. Boniface Catholic Church picnic will take place Sunday, Aug. 3, on the church grounds at Fulda.
Roast beef or fried chicken dinners with all the trimmings and dessert will be served in air-conditioned dining rooms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. CDT.
Take-outs are available. Fulda’s “famous soup” will be sold by the bowl or bulk. Containers will be available if guests need them.
The food court will serve famous soup, fried-chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled tenderloins and drinks.
Ice cream, lemonade and soft drinks will also be available.
Many handmade quilts will be raffled off throughout the day.
The Country Kitchen will offer homemade goodies, including breads, rolls, muffins, coffee cakes, noodles, snacks, salsas, jellies, jams and relishes.
Games for the young – and not so young – will include bingo on the shaded picnic grounds and a fun center with a bounce house.
Live music this year will be provided by the Sweet Water Band.
Guided tours of Historical St. Boniface Catholic Church will be given throughout the day.
The grand raffle of more than 100 prizes will include more than $2,000 in cash prizes and a special quilt drawing for two handmade quilts. A drawing for the themed-baskets raffle will close out the day.
The church is located on Highway 545 between St. Meinrad and Troy.
Parking for people with disabilities or limited mobility will be available.
St. Boniface quilt show to be held Sunday
FULDA – St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda will have an annual quilt show from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 20, at the church. The public is invited to attend and vote on quilts to be raffled at the Aug. 3 church picnic.
