Immaculate Conception church picnic Saturday
HAWESVILLE, Ky. - Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hawesville will host its annual barbecue picnic and flea market Saturday, July 12, at 115 Main Street in Hawesville.

A flea market opens at 7 a.m. Pork, mutton, chicken and burgoo sandwiches and dinners will be available. Serving with carryouts will begin at noon and picnic booths will open at 3:30 p.m.

There will be booths and games for the whole family and musical entertainment by Leo Gronquist from 7 to 8 p.m. Guests can eat in air-conditioned comfort or carry out dinners.

A raffle will give out 12 prizes worth over $1,800, with a first prize of $700.

St. John's annual picnic to be held July 19
LAMAR - St. John's United Church of Christ will hold its annual summer picnic beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19.

Chicken and ham dinners will be served, along with St. John's "Famous Dressing." Sides will include au gratin potatoes, fresh vegetables, a salad buffet and a dessert bar.

Children 4 and younger will eat for free and everyone is welcome.

Bible school at First Baptist set for July 19
CANNELTON - First Baptist Church in Cannelton will hold vacation Bible school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19. This event is open to children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Parents may drop children off beginning at 9:30 a.m. and all children must be picked up by 3:30 p.m.

Parents will be required to sign permission slips available at drop-off or by sending email to youthrefuge2012@gmail.com.

Tell City First Baptist to host "Weird Animals"
TELL CITY - Tell City First Baptist Church invites children to attend vacation Bible school from Monday, July 14 through Friday, July 18.
The theme this year is "Weird Animals." Throughout the week, kids will discover that Jesus' love is one-of-a-kind.

Kids will participate in Bible-learning activities, sing songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into treats, experience Bible adventures, collect Bible memory buddies and make crafts.

Each day will conclude with a celebration to get students involved in living what they've learned.

Family members and friends are encouraged to join daily at 11:30 a.m. for this special time.

"Weird Animals VBS" is for kids age 4 to those who have completed grade six and will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

Bible school planned at First Church of the Nazarene
TELL CITY - Tell City First Church of the Nazarene will host a weekend vacation Bible school,"Blast Off- Launching Kids on a Mission of God's Love," from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 29 at the church.

Organizers say the VBS is filled with Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear and touch. Team-building games, Bible songs and multi-sensory Bible adventures are just a few of the activities to be offered.

They also say kids will also participate in an outreach project, call Projects-With-a Purpose, that will let kids in our community show Jesus' love to families and let faith flow into real life.

Sessions will be Friday and Saturday from 6-8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with a Sunday celebration. Children 3 years to sixth grade are welcome to attend.

LAMAR - Little Pigeon Baptist Church near Lamar will celebrate homecoming with a carry-in dinner beginning at noon following morning services Sunday, July 20.

Singing with Dion and the Farmer family will begin at 1 p.m.

Zion United Church of Christ summer social July 26

CHRISNEY - The Zion United Church of Christ will hold a summer social beginning at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the church on College Street in Chrisney.

Dinners will include chicken or ham with all of the trimmings.
Homemade ice cream, cakes and pies will also be available.

St. Augustine picnic to be held Sunday, July 27
 LEOPOLD - St. Augustine's Catholic Church will hold its annual picnic from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, at the church. Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m.
