Worshipers invited to Holy Week, Easter celebrations
Lutheran Lenten services scheduled
TELL CITY – Emmanuel Lutheran Church will hold a Maundy Thursday service, April 17 and a Good Friday service April 18. Both services begin at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday breakfast at First Methodist Church
PERRY COUNTY – The final breakfast sponsored by the Men’s Lenten Breakfast Fellowship Group of Perry County will be served at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at First United Methodist Church in Tell City. A $3 donation is asked for the breakfast.
Freewill Baptist communion, feet-washing today
CANNELTON – Free- will Baptist Church will hold communion and feet-washing at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17. A sunrise service will be held at 6 a.m. Easter Sunday. A morning service, Sunday school and Bible study will be held at 10 a.m. and a worship service at 11 a.m. A carry-in basket lunch will follow, with an Easter-egg hunt afterward. Sunday night worship will be held at 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Little Pigeon Baptist gospel sing April 26
CHRISNEY – The Little Pigeon Baptist Church in Chrisney will host its monthly gospel sing Saturday, April 26. A meal will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a performance by guest singers Harvest Gold at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Holy week and Easter services at Ferdinand Monastery
FERDINAND – The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand invite the public to join them for holy week and Easter services in the monastery church. Services will be held Holy Thursday, April 17 with the Mass of the Lord’s supper celebrated at 4:30 p.m. EDT; Good Friday, April 18, services will be at 3 p.m.; Easter vigil service of readings Holy Saturday, April 19, will be at 8 p.m. and Easter Sunday services will begin at 6 a.m. and will include the blessing of the fire, Paschal candle and water, followed by the celebration of the Mass of the Resurrection.
For Heaven’s Sake, the monastery gift shop, will be closed April 17 through Easter Sunday.
It will reopen Monday, April 21, at 10 a.m.
Guided tours at the monastery will not be given Holy Thursday through Easter Monday, April 21. Tours will resume on Tuesday, April 22.
Evangelical United Holy Week services
TELL CITY – Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City invites the community to attend any or all of their services during the week of Easter.
A Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m. April 17 in the church sanctuary; a community service at noon Good Friday, April 18, in the sanctuary; a Good Friday worship at 7 p.m. April 18 in the sanctuary; an Easter sunrise service at 7 a.m. April 20 at the gazebo at City Hall Park in Tell City; a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. in the fellowship hall at EUCC and an Easter worship service at 10 a.m. April 20 in the church sanctuary.
The pancake breakfast Easter morning is free to anyone who would like a meal before or after church services. Free-will offerings will be appreciated.
There will be a nursery available for infants and toddlers during the Maundy Thursday, Good Friday evening and during Easter worship services.
Everyone is welcome.
First United Methodist Easter services, breakfast
TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist welcomes everyone to join them to celebrate the risen Christ during Easter. A Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m. April 17.
A Good Friday service will also be held.
Easter morning, April 20, a sunrise celebration will begin at 7 a.m. in the church sanctuary followed by breakfast in the social hall. An Easter celebration will take place at 9:15 a.m.
Troy First Christian sunrise service, breakfast
TROY – Troy First Christian Church, Lilly Dale Church of Christ and Tell City Church of Christ will host an Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m. at the Troy First Christian Church. A light breakfast will follow the celebration service for your enjoyment and fellowship.
Everyone is invited.
Central Baptist Church to Present Easter Drama
HAWESVILLE, Ky. – Central Baptist Church will present an Easter musical and drama titled, “It is Finished” Easter weekend.
The drama will feature the portrayal of Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the crucifixion and the resurrection from the tomb.
Performances will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19, and at 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 20.
Central Baptist Church is at the corner of U.S. Highways 60 and 271 North in Hawesville.

Event to support mission trip
NEW BOSTON – The Guatemala Mission Group will sponsor an evening of food and entertainment Saturday, April 26, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Boston.
Dinner will consist of roast pork and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, potato dumplings, sides, salads, rolls and homemade desserts. The meal will begin at 5 p.m. and euchre will start at 6:30 p.m. Cost for a meal only will be $8 per person; euchre only, $10 and dinner and euchre, $15.
