NEW CASTLE—Tell City’s Andy Chinn and Lauren Goffinet will be among 96 of the state’s top basketball players playing in the first Class Basketball All-Star Classic Saturday.

There will be four games—two for boys and two for girls.

Goffinet will play in the first game at 11 a.m. Perry County time as stars from Class 2A and A teams in the Indianapolis metropolitan area face their counterparts from the rest of the state.

That will be followed by the Class 2A and A boys game with the same format at 1:30 p.m.,  the games’ media coordinator John D. Brush said Tuesday. Previous releases listed the girls Class 3A and 4A game second, followed by the boys 2A and A game.

Now the girls Class 3A and 4A game is listed at 3:30 p.m. and boys 3A and 4A game at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Players who will team with Chinn on the Indiana 2A-A boys team include Jordan Myers of Forest Park, Josh Gordon of Northeast Dubois, Tyler Vieke of Vincennes Rivet, and Thomas Nugent of North Daviess.

Trevor George of Class 3A state champion Princeton will play in the 3A-4A boys game.

Vincennes Lincoln star Brooke Owens is among those who will play in the girls Class 3A-4A game.

Many top players from throughout the state have committed to play, as since these games are after the school year they do not count against the limit of two all-star games that seniors can play during school months.

Former New Castle, Indiana University and NBA star Kent Benson is co-organizer of the games.

According to the IHSAA tickets are $5 per game or $15 for all day. Profits from the Classic will go to the United Fund of Henry County, which consists of 11 different agencies ranging from Women and Infant Children to Food Bank to Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
