Chief reports fire runs for 2009

TELL CITY - The Tell City Fire Department responded to 68 calls during 2009, Fire Chief Greg Linne recently reported to the city's board of public works and safety. Totals included 30 fires, 26 responses to alarms, nine calls about smoke in which there were no fires and three vehicle accidents.

Structure fires during the year were reported at 9541 Brushy Fork Road, 937 Tell St., 1619 Tell St., 1839 Main St., 1630 Tell St., 1836 13th St. and 5189 Sky Blue Lane. The department also assisted Troy firefighters with an apartment-building blaze in that community Dec. 17.
