Cemetery vandalized

The public’s help is sought in identifying vandals who damaged several gravestones at Beard Cemetery near Bristow. A woman stopped at the cemetery to place flowers on her parents’ grave and found an adjacent stone marking the grave of her infant brother damaged. A few rows over, another stone that was really old was knocked off nearly even with the ground and taken. Anyone with information about the vandalism should call the Perry County Sheriff’s Department at 547-2441 or an anonymous tip line at 547-9563.
