TELL CITY—Cash Waggner & Associates had 24 hits as it won both its games in the first night of Tell City’s age-13-16 girls softball league season Wednesday.
Mollie Ingle and Monica Bartley each had two of Cash Waggner’s nine hits in an 11-4 win over Goffinet Homes.
Shannon Bryant and Jennifer Trujillo combined to pitch a one-hitter for Cash Waggner that game.
Bryant gave up one hit and two walks and struck out five in four innings. Trujillo walked none and struck out one in one inning.
Sydney Goffinet had Goffinet Homes’ only hit and drove in two runs.
Cash Waggner had 15 hits in a 13-8 win over Ohio Valley Gas later that night.
Bryant and Madison Gilliland each went 3 for 4 and scored three runs.
Natalie Sanders and Brittany Brumfield each hit a double and a single and Jordyn Vogt also had two hits. Sanders scored four runs.
Bartley drove in three runs with a single and a bases-loaded walk.
Jessie Wheatley hit a triple and a single to lead Ohio Valley’s seven-hit attack.
Aquaila Parker also had two hits. Wheatley and Bailey Sandage each drove in two runs.
Legacy Financial beat Ohio Valley Gas 8-3 in the night’s other game as Leah Hellums hit a double and a single. Casey James added a triple.
Julie Lindauer hit a triple to lead Ohio Valley’s three-hit attack.
