TELL CITY - Tickets are still available for the Aug. 4 appearance of comedian Carl Hurley. Dubbed the nation's funniest professor, Hurley will appear on the Tell City High School auditorium stage at 7 p.m., part of Tell City's Aug. 2-9 sesquicentennial.
Hurley was born in Laurel County, Ky., attended Eastern Kentucky University and earned a doctorate in education. He grew up listening to family stories and radio programs and many of the stories he tells are rooted in his rural upbringing.
